We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikki + Ash and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We are proud to be a badass women-owned small business specializing in letterpress greeting cards, paper goods, and now vinyl stickers. We are known for making cards that are full of humor and reflect what you actually think, feel, and say. In our designs, we acknowledge the messy, the real, the ridiculous, and the absurd. For us, it’s not just about the hallmark moments, we like to celebrate both the big, the little, and all the in-betweens.
We’re most excited about the expansion our company has seen over the last few months and the vision that we have for it moving forward. We recently expanded our line to include notecard sets, mini pocket notes, and vinyl stickers which have been a huge hit!
We are where are today because of our strong partnership, clear vision, hard work, and tenacity. We view challenges not as set backs, but as opportunities to grow and learn.
If we could share one thing about our brand with the world, it would be that we are proof that it’s never too late to change your story.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Where do we begin? Our city is so full of hidden gems, we’ll start with our perfect day. We’d begin with a hike in Topanga Canyon to see the waterfall and the awesome panoramic views of the city to ocean. On the way back we’d stop for brunch at Cafe on 27 – the avocado toast is to die for as you sit in a rustic, mountain-side setting overlooking the Canyon. From there we would check out some local artists and makers at the weekly “Artists and Fleas” on Abbott Kinney in Venice. Later we’d head downtown to Grand Central Market to grab an afternoon snack before heading to the Broad to see their latest art exhibits. Finally we’d cap the night at a Lakers game, the quintessential LA experience.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We are so fortunate to have the unwavering support of our close friends and family. But the real shoutout this time has to go to our dear friends Alison Van Pelt and Mark Fishman who have gone above and beyond to help launch us into the next phase of our business. We would not be where we are without them believing in us the way that they do. Having unconditional love like this in our corner makes us feel unstoppable. We are so grateful.
