We had the good fortune of connecting with Sammy Todd and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sammy, is there something you believe many others might not?
That you need a traditional 9-5 job to be “successful.” My true career success came after I quit mine. For a long time I knew that clocking in and out wasn’t for me. I wanted to be able to build my own dream, not get paid a wage to help build somebody else’s.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It has always benefited me to be thankful for what I have, but that doesn’t mean not aiming for high goals. I had times of feeling so horrible about where I was in life. At age 21, I made the choice to go all into the the entertainment industry. But, I felt so unprepared and honestly, inadequate. While I had just earned a bachelor’s degree in business, and had been acting for fun for many years, I wished that I had grown up in a big city. I wished that I had been given development opportunities as a child for acting and modeling. It took me a long time to realize that I was enough, and what I knew and had was enough to move forward and gain more experience. When we want something in life our biggest barrier is our own mind, but its also our only path. Sometimes you have to be your own supporter. Focusing on the opportunities that Los Angeles had to offer filled me with inspiration. I soon confirmed that art through Acting and Modeling was my true calling and purpose. I’ve made every large decision in my life has been for it. I’ve always had a very strong work ethic, but once I could pair that with my passion amazing results came.

Though what I do I tell stories and stand up for what I believe is right in this world. I talk about subjects such as feminism, body positivity, education and mental health ( to name a few). I hope that my impact in the world will be a large and unarguably positive one.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A few of my favorite things to do in life are eat, workout and be in nature. A perfect day for me is one in the sun! Maybe a hike, or going to the beach, or since I live in LA, both! I love going out to dinner so that would come after. I love dressing up and going to fine dinning restaurants. That all being said, I’m super easy going, so I’d also ask my friend what they wanted to do. I’d probably have just as much fun!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Chad Kapise, the only one who knew me from day one, and saw more potential in me than anyone else, including myself. For making me feel like my dreams mattered.
