We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikki Eason and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nikki, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
My favorite quote is “the two most important days of your life are the day you were born and the day you find out why” by Mark Twain. When I first encountered this quote, it gave me a sense of meaning and purpose. Often times, we forget just how precious it is to just exist. To have the opportunity to enter the world, considering all of the circumstances that it takes to create a life alone, is a blessing.

I love this quote because it reminds me to be humble and grateful for life. This quote pushed me to love and accept myself, search for my why and to respect and understand it once I realized what it all entailed. When you know your why, you are more intentional and purposeful in your decision making. We tend to compare ourselves to others as if it is some sort of competition. Thinking that we are not good enough because we don’t act or look like them or have similar possessions. When we understand that how we are the way we are is enough. We begin to celebrate our own journey. When I found my why, it gave me the confidence needed to live authentically, intentional and on purpose.

This quote made me want to really focus and tap into those two important days consistently. Once I begin to do that, my life changed. Because of this quote, I love to celebrate my birthday to the fullest and I thrive in understanding how to fulfill the purpose of why I was created.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an Inspirational Performance Artist, Motivational Speaker and Creator. My artistry is primarily presented through spoken word. Recently, I have been called a Freestyle Motivational Speaker. I can take words and sentences and turn them into an impromptu inspirational and motivational message. When I do this, it is called a Mogul Moment, an important person sharing an important piece of information for a short period of time. These short, customizable and thought-provoking messages will get you back on track when you’ve lost your way. I never felt like I should be solidified to one thing, so I call myself a MOGUL. I created an acronym for it, and it stands for a Miracle Of Greatness Under Love. Mogul Moments are done to remind you of who you are and whose you are. Right now, my words are influencing people all around the world.

I am the Creator of The Androgynous Model, a modeling competition show that encourages others to be brave along their journey to true self. Androgynous individuals compete in life altering challenges that will help them evolve through love and truth. The last one standing will receive rankings, national recognition and be a part of the Androgynous Model Agency, where the individual will receive personal development, image consulting, mentorship and potential opportunities with brands and organizations who are looking to become more diverse and inclusive.

What sets me apart from others is my confidence and the willingness to never give up. If you believe in yourself, you can accomplish anything. Believing in myself gives me confidence, then gives me the courage to pursue and create the life I deserve. I am most proud of how my confidence has allowed me to create pathways, avenues and opportunities for other people like me. My artistry is presented through speaking engagements, digital content communications, coaching and consulting sessions that are sure to impact and transform individuals into becoming a better version of themselves.

How I got to where I am today in my professional career, is by being a student. I am like a sponge. I love to learn new things that will help me evolve. I ask lots of questions and I do my own research. I am a self-taught Video Content Creator and Editor. I am a Coach to others who lack self-awareness and confidence. I read lots of books and turn all of my knowledge from past encounters and experiences into lessons for all genders identified. I coach people based on where they are by utilizing my own life experiences to help them move beyond their limits.

Being where I am today was definitely not easy. There were and still are challenges. I chose to overcome those challenges by changing my perspective to what they were and that was just understanding that those challenges were actually things that needed to happen to prepare me for the journey ahead. I knew going into it that it was not going to be easy. Honestly, if it was easy everyone would do it. So, I embrace the struggle because I know it is only temporary but necessary for my progression throughout success. I believe anything worth having will not come easy and I have always stepped up to the challenge. Because I know regardless of the outcome, I will learn and know more than I did prior to the beginning. As of now, I am starting to understand more that it’s all about the journey not the destination.

The lessons I have learned along the way is to always be yourself, have confidence and be courageous. These are important lessons from me. Also, I learned that I am not responsible for people’s reactions and what people think of me is none of my business. Another big lesson is to always meet people where they are and speak love and truth over their life as well as my own. What I want the world to know about me is everything I have done started from an idea that I put into action. In order for me to put it in action, I had to have confidence and courage to believe in something that only I could see. I had to accept that there was only one of me and no one can do it like I can. Therefore, my existence is relevant and intentional, and I always operated from that space. My brand is based off of inspiration, motivation and empowerment and I create from a place of love and authenticity. I hope the world knows from my story that struggles are just a part of the journey and they are only temporary. Everything that is happening to you is happening for you. So, relax, be grateful for all things and enjoy the ride. Ultimately, I want the world to know that you can do anything and create the life you want if you just be you and believe in yourself. You deserve all the great things in life and if you can see it in your mind then you can hold it in your hand. Remember to be loving and kind to yourself while being open to the possibility that you are only here to learn, grow and evolve into a better version of yourself.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Actually, I am the only one on the Sharpe Leadership team that doesn’t live in LA. I am on the east coast, however when I get the chance to visit LA or possibly move there, the first place on my itinerary to visit is Venice Beach then Hollywood Studios, Walk of Fame, Staples Center and of course all of the stores on Sunset Blvd. The cool coffee shops, lounges, bars and other nightlife will be added. Oh and of course I would visit and eat at all the amazing restaurants that are on the top 10 list. I have to start with Italian restaurants first because that is my favorite cuisine.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to Sharpe Suiting, a company that creates custom and bespoke designs for all genders identified. This LA based brand deserves credit and recognition in my story because of how they fulfilled the purpose of why I was created. I am a woman who embraces men’s clothing and often times I struggled with finding clothing that fit my body type. When I found Sharpe Suiting, I got extremely excited because I felt like I had found my tribe. A company that understands who I am and why there is a need to shift how fashion and entertainment is viewed within the world.

In 2018, I became a Design Ambassador servicing the LGBTQ community, women and people of color in Charlotte, NC and surrounding areas. Now, I am the Design Ambassador Program Lead which manages all the different locations and the Sharpe Stylists. Being in this role, I get to create marketing strategies that will increase revenue, guide other stylists in providing excellent customer service and provide confidence coaching to clients all across the world. This organization plays a significant role in my story because it correlates with my purpose and it solidifies that all individuals have the right to stand in the truth of who they are and dress how they wish to express themselves.
