We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikoloz Nakopia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nikoloz, what principle do you value most?
Good faith. Anything you do you should do in good faith. The reason behind is an attitude towards business you are doing. I always give my all, respect and love what I do. This principle helps to build a company, its brand and eventually brings success.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own two companies in EV field, one specializes in production of electric bikes (Owlet Bikes Inc.) and the second one – charging stations for micromobility (In Charge One Inc.). Both companies are unique in their own way. With bikes we came up with a decision to make pedal-less vehicles, advantages are effortless riding, style and comfort. There are no charging stations for e-bikes and e-scooters, so In Charge One tackles the problem of urban transports infrastructure, with top notch technical solutions. I came to EV idea when I was working in energy company back in my home country. I have been always obsessed with renewable and green energy. Trying to make an impact from my side. But before I have worked in industrial companies, like gold mining, energy and jewelry. Jewelry is an actual jewel of my career, where I learned how to operate your own business, build it, develop it. It is like taking care of a child. Also I had a chance to express myself through produce we were creating and actually use historic moments to create one-of-a-kind pieces. And I made an exit of it, giving me a chance to invest into newer ideas and move forward. And one of my proudest businesses is a first Ukrainian fast food chain in Kyiv. I invested money there during the war. Usually people do not do this, but I wanted to prove them wrong, because you can do business in any environment if the idea is good, in addition it was a chance for me to create more working places where it is most needed.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love fine dining, nature and art. It is always great to Venice Beach, Santa Barbara and Laguna Beach – my 3 top places by the ocean. Also LACMA, Getty and Peterson’s Museums are the must visit places. Arts district in DTLA and the ROW are quite inspiring, you can feel industrialism and modern hip fusion. Regarding fine dining: Providence and Caruso’s are my favorites.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My childhood inspirations were Bill Gates and Warren Buffet with their innovative thinking and positive impact. Later I was inspired by story of Christian von Koenigsegg creating one of the best hyper cars in the world from scratch. And recently it is Mate Rimac. And of course my family, my wife and kids are the best motivation and support.
