We had the good fortune of connecting with Nissa Prizzi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nissa, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business really came from feeling compelled to help others. It began by wanting to use my voice to create community around the struggles of motherhood. Society can paint the picture that motherhood is this glorious magical calling where raising children is all fresh baked muffins and laughter. I wanted other mothers to know that if motherhood was feeling like a big mix of wonderful and really hard, they were not alone. Connecting with others that way then led to wanting to share other things I had learned along the way as I searched for my own health. Now I have the privilege of helping other people move out of confusion, frustration, and paralysis of sickness into vibrant lives filled with energy and hope! It is pure joy for me to watch people experience breakthrough and hope after being so weary and alone in their struggles. I saw that there was a need for more connected and simplified solutions for health. When I didn’t find it, I decided to create the business myself.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When I look over my life and how I got to this place, it looks like a small stream that has wandered its way across a meadow. The path has had so many bends you could almost get dizzy following them all. Yet, the stream has continuously flowed on. I am proud of how I have been willing to adjust to the turns life has brought my way. One of my biggest lessons has been to trust and see that nothing is wasted. I spent years pursing acting only to realize one day that I don’t even like doing it. Instead of being distraught about the “wasted time” I have seen how all of that training and time in front of the camera is helping me to seamlessly communicate my message online now. I have learned through my journey of life that true health is only found when we are balanced in our body, soul, and spirit. This is the work I do now; I help others find their balance. I help them understand how interconnected they are to their whole being and to others. As a lifelong learner, I have amassed an amazing amount of knowledge on health and wellness. I sort through all of this info and pull out what is most beneficial for my clients so they have actionable steps to more forward in their wellness. We cut through the confusion so they can actually more forward into their vibrant life. Sometimes overcoming health challenges can be very discouraging and lonely. I absolutely love walking alongside people as they find new joy and freedom. It is so fulfilling and makes all the twists and turns of my journey worthwhile!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my main reasons for loving LA is the ocean. So, when friends or family visit it’s always off to the beach. I have many beaches I love – Annenburg Community Beach House in Santa Monica, El Matador and Zuma in Malibu, Manhattan beach. Pre-covid, we would always play beach volleyball. I also love to show areas that are uniquely LA – Venice Beach boardwalk, Hollywood and Highland with the Avenue of the Stars, Melrose and the 3rd Street Promenade. I like to take the longer path in between these destinations so they can see the city along the way. Having grown-up in Colorado, there is still so much of Los Angeles I find exotic and beautiful even after living here for 20 years. Driving along the streets of Beverly Hills with the palm trees on either side feels like we are living in a movie! It’s just fun! Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My biggest shoutout goes to my husband. He has been such an incredible encourager in my life. He usually sees what I’m capable of before I can see it.. He has faithfully supported my journey in every possible way. He’s even been a sort of test subject or case study when it comes to helping others on their own wellness journey. Ha ha ha. I definitely would not be where I am today without him!
