We had the good fortune of connecting with Noah Love and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Noah, what do you attribute your success to?
CLUB is very personable with our clients which ultimately breeds success. Everyone is unique, everyone has an interesting story to tell—we’re there to take the time and find it. We have several clients that could attest to our commitment to getting into the weeds and unearthing the unique. Whether it’s digging through some dusty forgotten books in a basement, or discovering a new craft, we find a unique way to create brands in a world drowning in normalism.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As we get into a project with a client, we tend to look in abstract places. We reject the commonplace sources for inspiration as they typically lead to fleeting design elements. We find inspiration first hand in our surrounding environments as well as design before it ever was labeled “design”. That’s what brings character into our work, that’s what drives us to make work that will outlive us.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Los Angeles is filled with so many odd corners but our suggestion would be to leave! We’re seekers of the odd and there are so many places to visit within a few hours of LA. Take a trip to some hot springs in the Eastern Sierra, the deserts for solitude, and San Onofre for a sunset swim in the ocean. Baja is a must.

If you are staying local, you’ll find us hanging out at Bub & Grandma’s for lunch and then an after work drink at Walt’s or Capri Club. Outside of our comforts, you have gems like Rancho in Altadena which has a wonderful patio to watch the San Gabriel Mountains hikers. Closer to the beach we would suggest The Galley which is dimly lit with holiday lights serving plates of seafood and a glimpse of what old Los Angeles used to be.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The ultimate success of CLUB has been time, client trust, and the community. The collaboration with Andy at Bub & Grandma’s to finally open his restaurant was a big honor. The amount of care and time he puts into his partnership and employees is very above and beyond most. Carolyn at Casetta Group has been very trusting of our involvement as well and we’re very excited to launch several hotels with their group. But again, without the faith of everyone in our studio practice, we simply wouldn’t exist.
