Meet Noam Dromi | Managing Director and Executive Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Noam Dromi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Noam, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I head up Reboot Studios, the content arm of the arts-and-culture nonprofit Reboot, funded with the support of numerous philanthropic organizations including Steven Spielberg’s Righteous Persons Foundation.
We provide seed investments to develop new inspirational and transformational Jewish content. Driven by the belief that art influences our world, enriches our lives and has the power to change the way we think, Reboot Studios and our creative partner tells stories through a Jewish lens about the shared human experience.
All Reboot projects imagine Jewish ritual and tradition afresh, offering an inviting mix of discovery, experience and reflection through events, exhibitions, recordings, books, films, DIY activity toolkits and apps. These projects have engaged more than 5.5 million participants in the past three years and continue to inspire Jewish connections and meaning by encouraging participants to become creators in their Jewish experience.
Our community includes Hollywood creatives (Transparent, The Office, Orange is the New Black), San Francisco tech pioneers (Google, Facebook) and New York journalists (New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Buzzfeed); plus influential academics, non-profit executives, community organizers, renowned chefs and digital media innovators.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Over the past few years, my career has taken some exciting turns that I’m incredibly proud of and excited to share. My focus has always been to explore the confluence of storytelling, technology, and social impact, which led me to my current position as the Managing Director of Reboot Studios. Here, I’ve had the opportunity to work on projects that highlight the wisdom, gratitude, and optimism of people from different walks of life.
One project that holds a special place in my heart is the ‘I Am Devoted’ series, a collaborative effort between Devoted Health and Silver Screen Studios. This national campaign and documentary-style film series were designed to honor older adults in the community of Lorain, Ohio. This project has reinforced my belief that every story matters, and every voice deserves to be heard. It has taught me that while the road may be filled with challenges, it’s these very challenges that make the journey worthwhile.
Simultaneously, I recently produced a comedy feature project “Rockbottom” that has an exciting cast lineup. This film focuses on an 80s hair metal band, CougarSnake, and their journey of reunion, reigniting faded rockstar dreams, and overcoming individual challenges to return to glory.
Every step of my professional journey has been an exciting adventure. Of course, it hasn’t always been easy. There were challenges, uncertainties, and difficult decisions to make. But these challenges have only served to shape me into a more resilient, adaptable, and determined professional. I’ve learned that no matter how turbulent the journey gets, it’s essential to stay true to your passion and belief.
As for what sets me apart, I believe it’s my relentless pursuit of stories that are compelling, meaningful, and have a broad social impact. I am excited about the power of storytelling and its potential to influence minds, shape perspectives, and inspire change. I want the world to know that my brand is all about creating a positive impact through media, and that my story is a testament to the power of perseverance, passion, and creativity.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When it comes to dining, two top-rated restaurants that stand out for me in Los Angeles at the moment are n/naka and Hayato. Both are two Michelin star restaurants specializing in the Japanese kaiseki style of dining. n/naka, located in Palms, is run by chef-owner Niki Nakayama, featured in the Netflix documentary Chef’s Table. It offers a 13-course tasting menu with a vegetarian option. Hayato, in the Downtown Arts District, provides a more intimate experience with handcrafted ceramics imported from Japan and a focus on delicate flavors.
For unique bars I recommend Good Times at Davey Wayne’ and The Spare Room, a gaming parlor and cocktail lounge located in the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.
I’m a big hiker and try to find interesting new trails as often as possible. Some recent favorites include Murphy Ranch Trail that leads to the ruins of a mysterious complex built in the 1930s and rumored to have been intended as a Nazi sympathizer stronghold. The graffiti-covered ruins and the somewhat eerie ambiance make for a very unconventional hike. I also like the Bronson Caves and the Wisdom Tree Hike in Griffith Park.
A few other cool places to check out include The Last Bookstore, Watts Towers, Sunken City and The Echo Park Time Travel Mart.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shout out my friend and colleague Daril Fannin. Daril is the CEO of the web3 company Kino, a blockchain powered film technology company that makes the economics of filmmaking more sustainable by democratizing access, empowering artists & creators and driving the entertainment industry to be more equitable for every artist with a story to tell.
A former student of mine and a decorated Army veteran, Daril has created, sold, written and produced multiple film & tv projects with A-list talent such as Matt Damon, Peter Berg, and Jimmy Kimmel. He was the Region III “Soldier of the Year” in 2008 & Tennessee’s “Non Commissioned Officer of the Year” in 2011.
