We had the good fortune of connecting with NSTASIA and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi NSTASIA, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
I have a friend that said this particular saying a long time ago that stuck with me for years. “Those who never give up, never not make it”.. Basically, the only way you won’t accomplish your dreams is if you give up. If you never give up then your success is inevitable. For years its been one of the main pieces of wisdom I’ve received that has kept me encouraged. If you really think about anyone who ended up not accomplishing their dreams , somewhere in there is a story about them giving up, for whatever the reason may be. We all go through moments of doubts, but this saying keeps me motivated. I believe whatever your desires are is what you should strive for. You desire it because its for you and you should go get it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As an artist, I want people to get to know my thoughts, my feelings, my experiences and my personality from my music. It was when I started to just write how I felt, the melodies that were in my heart regardless of whether it was “radio” friendly or not I found my light. Creating whatever is true for me in that moment which can definitely change with each song, but it’s authentically me. It takes a lot of grind to start seeing the fruits of your labor in music lol.. A lot of courage and belief in yourself. Anything creative is perspective so what you feel about yourself is most important. Keeping your mind strengthened is extremely important in my opinion. Be serious about creating a firm positive thought about what it is you want and what is meant for you. Don’t let anyone put their fears on you and tell you that you cant accomplish your dreams. No matter how successful you get, the “mind grind” is constant. Just gets easier but its still needs to be worked.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Hmmm.. I like this question! Well! If my bestie, London was in town for a week we would definitely have a list of the best restaurants to eat at. Her and I are foodies so eating amazing food is definitely apart of having the best time ever. To name a few, Crossovers, Sweet blessings, A few Caribbean places.. any and all of the best food places but they must also serve cocktails lol… We’d do a HUGE bone fire party at the beach and the weather would be perfect! We’d definitely do one of the days at the spa and pick the most luxurious option LMBO (Must come with Champagne, tea and lunch). We’d do a couples game night, we love love so that’ll hit the spot perfectly. We’d definitely have to chill and have a movie night where we relax and do a bunch of girl talk. If we really feel up to it we’d take two days and drive to Vegas to play roulette lmbo, this recently became one of our favorite games at the casinos lol… Anything thats an active experience and includes food and drinks is pretty much life so …. lol Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My father has been a huge musical influence on me. As a musician, Since I was in a baby carriage he was carrying me to the studios with him leading me to my love for music. He’s my hero, a lot of my success is because of his talents and what he’s shown me not only as a musician but also as a great single father. It takes a lot of self confidence and belief in yourself to keep going. He’s always made sure I knew how great and beautiful I was as a little girl and even now. Especially as a woman in the music industry, it’s important to be reminded of your self worth. My grand mother, being the woman in my life who raised me has also instilled those same things. As a black woman she has always been An amazing example of pure class, grace, intelligence, success, beauty, ambition, wisdom and style. I feel like she is one of the best role models a woman could ever have. I definitely grew up lucky!

I’d also like to mention a book that to me was so important when it came to manifesting my desires, keeping me encouraged, influencing positivity and having faith. It’s called “The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind” by Joseph Murphy. Literally one of the blueprints to living a life of happiness. Im actually on my second time reading it as we speak. If you happen to read it DM me! lol!

Id also like to dedicate this to all of my supporters who enjoy my music and who I am as an artist. You don’t understand how much it means to me every time I receive messages about what my music has gotten you through or even just how much you love a particular song. A lot of times I think of those messages whenever Im creating.

I could honestly keep going and going on the different people who matter to me or has made an impact in my life whether big or small, for me it all has a lot to do with the amazing experience I’ve had in my career so far. You know who you all are and I love you sooooooo much!
