Hi Olivia, first of all your desserts look very luxurious and delicious, they literally look like a master piece. We have to say, you are very talented. What’s your approach about work-life?
Hello and thank you! We focus on high quality ingredients to bring the best flavors to our clients. Our clients refer to our pastries as a piece of art so we say – It’s edible art!

There has to be a balance between work and life. Over the years I’ve realized what most matters to me is how I spend my time. Taking care of my well-being, being grateful for everything in my life, staying happy and at peace with myself are my priorities so that I can be the best version of myself in every area and aspect of my life. I make it a point to nourish my mind and my soul. I try to always prioritized self care routines into my life and that makes me automatically more productive at work. I also like to take time off (vacation time) I would say that’s number #1 for me. Los Angeles can be a very fast-paced city and we have to know when to slow down. I am extremely thankful for having the chance to travel as it teaches me to value life and continues to make me humble. Whether I travel miles away from home or close to home, I honestly get the same feeling, the feeling of being so grateful and appreciative for everything in my life and the opportunity to learn, explore and experience different cultures. Gratitude grounds us, focusing in the good things in our life shifts our perspective. It keeps us from overlooking the gifts that are easy to take for granted, which makes us feel more generous, compassionate and whole. Traveling enriches the soul. It’s an opportunity to reconnect with ourselves, it recharges my batteries to comeback to my regular routine refreshed and focused.

I am a highly organized person; I am a planner, even if things get chaotic at times I know everything will work out just fine. Being an organized person goes beyond having a clean and tidy space. It’s about having a mindset and lifestyle that values efficiency, productivity and peace of mind. Time is precious, time is valuable, time is free but is priceless, you can’t own it but you can use it. You can’t keep it but you can spend it. We have to know how to put our energy into time and how to draw success from time. Life is beautiful to be anything but happy and if you don’t spend your time wisely, life can pass you by quickly. Ultimately work-life balance it’s really about arriving at a place where you’re fulfilled with your life and feel good about how you spend your time and energy. Life is what you make it. We only live once so we have to make the best of it.

What do you think makes you a successful business woman?
For me being a female entrepreneur means being a leader, a creator, looking straight ahead and not worrying about the world’s noise. Being a successful business woman means you have to take risks and be fearless in pursuit of your goals. I always focus on the positive and I like to surround myself with people who support me, inspire me and lift me up. I feel like the best way to be successful in general is to be yourself, have confidence in yourself, have a positive outlook and genuinely care about what you do. Success of course comes with hard work, consistency, determination and having a clear vision of what you want. You have to be willing to work hard. No one is going to do the work for you, you have to get up every single day and do your best. One of my favorite quotes is “Success is not the key to happiness, Happiness is the key to success” with that said, it all starts within, it all starts with you and your mindset, a healthy mindset.

Happiness is a choice, the remarkable thing is we all have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.

You have to be true to yourself so that you can be the best version of yourself to the world and the best version at what you do. Being true to yourself is a life-long practice that requires commitment and re-commitment, moment to moment as you grow and evolve. Success is not about perfection, it’s about resilience and growth. You have to own your journey and trust your path.

What do you think about risk? You went from a pretty successful career to starting another amazing career from scratch, what made you take the leap of faith?
I am someone who likes taking risks. I remember my mom used to always say “Those who will not risk, cannot win” and she still says that until this day.

I am always going to bet on myself. It’s never too late to start anything in life. If you believe in yourself, you’re already ahead of the game. I’ve always been an adventurer. I love projects, new challenges and I love to explore new things. I feel incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to start another career from scratch. I worked as a television entertainment reporter for 13 years for one of the biggest Spanish TV networks in the US and I feel very proud of all my accomplishments. I retired from a career that I built with lots of sacrifices but I felt in my heart that it was time to close that chapter and start new adventures. It wasn’t about “the job” or “the title” anymore, it was about my freedom and my happiness as a whole. I am at a very happy and peaceful place in my life. I am grateful for everything in my life and I don’t take anything for granted. I love what I do and I’m happy. I’m really enjoying the process.

I feel incredibly blessed to connect with amazing people who support my baking journey and cheer me up. I’ve built and I continue to keep building an incredible clientele base who trust me for their special day and events and I look forward to meeting more amazing people. I am thankful for every single person that has and continues to cross this path with me. I keep learning, growing end evolving. There is no race here, I am not competing with anyone but myself. I’m going at my own pace and overall enjoying this sweet ride called life!
