We had the good fortune of connecting with Olivia Faye and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Olivia, why did you pursue a creative career?
I had a calling from a very young age to pursue a career in the entertainment business. I loved to sing and perform in front of people. I was writing songs in kindergarten and very lucky I had parents who recognized my creative talents! They helped me get a jump start in my career by putting me in community theater at 6 years old, putting me in guitar lessons at 11, driving me to every open mic night and co-write I could find until I got my license! I really owe so much to them for being amazing supporters still to this day!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a country/pop singer/songwriter and actress from Murray, Kentucky. Growing up in a family of music lovers, my musical stylings pay homage to many of the early icons of Country Music, Blues and Classic Rock. I moved to Nashville at 19, and quickly acclimated to a life in Music City as a songwriter and performer. I have been lucky enough to perform throughout Nashville and beyond, my favorite being Puckett’s of Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee where I am a regular. I have been a featured opener for Travis Tritt, Alabama, Mark Chesnutt and Paul Thorn. And I was just named as one of the best-up-and-coming talented artists to watch on Nashville Rising’s Spotify playlist and CMT Next Women of Country.
I feel very fortunate to do what I love and inspire others through my songs and lyrics. Be on the lookout as I prepare to release a music video with CMT!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had my best friend visiting me here in Nashville I would start by taking them to what I consider a little slice of heaven out in Franklin and we would hang out at the Puckett’s on a Thursday night open mic night! Then for the weekend of course we would have to go hang out at the honky tonks on lower broad way and dance! Especially Alan Jacksons bar-my favorite. And no doubt I would take them to the best barbecue place ever- Martin’s BBQ! We would have to stop by Printer’s Alley to watch some amazing blue’s players at the Blues Bar. Then we would end our weekend on a rooftop bar in Nashville over looking the city!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout is to my mom and dad for being my biggest supports from the very beginning and still to this day.
