We had the good fortune of connecting with PADRE and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi PADRE, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Tbh everything else felt like a trap! I realized that pursuing an artistic/creative career meant freedom. It meant doing what I love for living. It meant doing what excites me. It meant following my passion and letting my passion lead me to the places I need to go.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a music lover and nerd, I geek out on music organization and have like a million playlist. Okay maybe not a million 😉 but I absolutely love and enjoy discovering new music and vibes and sharing it with people. Another thing I enjoy is learning how to use new production tools and tech. As far as my profession goes, I DJ, still can’t believe I call it my job! but I think what sets me a part is my vast and exceptional taste in music. That and my dedication to it. I really care 🙂 I really feel as though i’m blessed to be able to set the tone of the room and help people connect and express themselves through music and dance. I mean, Who doesn’t like a good party?
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, to those reading I just moved to west Hollywood from San Francisco; BAY AREAAAAAAA! So i’m still new to the neighborhood but there is this one spot I went to called I met her at a bar. Over there on La brea, and it was delicious, the chicken & waffles is a must so I probably would make brunch plans there if I had friends in town. But if y’all know any good spots please hit me up and let me know because a brother likes to eat good ya feel me….
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to God, for always having my back. My mother who birthed me. All the people who helped build my confidence and told me I can do it, and the ones who told me that i’m great… you know who you are 😉 Shoutout to Hannah, otherwise know as boom shaka laka who hooked me up with this interview. Shoutout to Darren Blatt he’s like the ambassador to LA for me at this point oh and I can’t forget about my grandpa. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be half the man I am today. Shoutout to my mentor Alex, he’s like a father to me and its nice to have that support system in place as I navigate my way through this tough industry. As books go the “4 agreements” and “The Mastery of self” by Don Miguel Ruiz was life changing.
