We had the good fortune of connecting with Paige Bounassi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Paige, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m Italian, born and raised in New York. I came from a low income family so money was something we always had on our minds. Since I didn’t grow up financially stable I worked extremely hard at a very young age. I know the value of a dollar and working to earn that dollar. Nothing was handed to me. Everything I have I gave to myself. I never had a hand out and in some ways I think it makes how far I’ve come a little sweeter. I’ll never forget where I came from and I will always be reminded of my roots no matter where I take my career!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
So I had always wanted to do realty since I was at least 18 but I never thought I would be able to make it. There’s so much competition, and coming from a low income family, you don’t make career moves that gamble money. You want steady pay. Thankfully I took the chance anyway and I love it. I’m a Realtor at Grandview Realty in Glendale. My broker is wonderful and so are my colleagues.
For production work and voice acting that was thanks to my boyfriend José. He has a company Lazerbot Films and I always wanted to help him on sets. I was acting and dancing since I was 3 so I’ve been experienced in the business before. But being in Los Angeles and doing it was an entirely different thing. Working on these professional sets and helping behind the scenes is something that I’m super passionate about. Even when the days are long and hard and there’s been no sleep for a week, set life is a time like no other. Especially working with friends and loved ones? It’s truly a gift
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I actually have a list of places to take people and things to do in LA because so many of my friends from New York come to visit me!
I would definitely start the day at Alfred coffee on melrose place or at the Juice Parlor in NoHo. Breakfast would be at Blu Jam in West Hollywood.
I would hit the beach (Venice, Santa Monica or Hermosa for sure)
Lunch would be at Aroma cafe in studio city or Weho Bistro in West Hollywood
After lunch a stroll around the grove
Dinner at Jon and Vinny’s Fairfax or at Catch in Weho
And end the night at madame siam or dirty laundry in Hollywood to dance and drink and see the best DJ ever, my friend Keith Wilson!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My friends who always stood by me even through the very difficult times. My boyfriend, José Escorcia who is a director and editor in Los Angeles. And honestly, myself for never giving up even when things were dark.
