We had the good fortune of connecting with Paige Leigh Thom and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Paige Leigh, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
The core of our business is to provide exceptional service to our couples leading up to and on one of the biggest days of their life. Profit, personal business goals, stressors will never take precedent over fulfilling their dream day. We started this business because I had a true and deep desire to be apart of such a happy, love filled day. We always come back to that and remember at the end of the day it’s not about us, it’s always about the couple.

What should our readers know about your business?
When I look back at the last 3 1/2 years I am continually amazed and proud of the business we have built and the progress we have made. Not only did we start a wedding planning business in the middle of a global health pandemic (whew), I started as the Lead Planner with no prior wedding planning experience. I had known for years that I wanted to one day plan weddings and had done what I could to learn about the business and events in general. But when I signed that first client, is when I planned my first wedding, which is a little wild to think about now! Today we have worked on over 100 weddings, have hired multiple team members, and have grown as business owners and wedding planners. At the end of the day I have always thought that a genuine care for our couples and making their big day just right has always been the highlight of our business, and what has been the key to growth in an industry we were brand new in.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Buckle up because our LA adventure is like diving headfirst into a movie reel of good times! Picture this: we’re kicking off by time-traveling through LA’s coolest spots. First stop, the Bradbury Building – talk about architecture goals. Then, a jam session at Capitol Records, a stroll through Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, and soaking in those Griffith Park Observatory views. It’s gonna be a whirlwind of iconic LA vibes!

Of course, we can’t miss the Hollywood classics – a hike to the legendary Hollywood Sign followed by a chill lunch at Cupids Hot Dogs. And after a day of soaking up the city’s charm, we’re crashing in style at The Georgian in Santa Monica. Waves crashing, city lights – you get the picture.

We then hit the road to Long Beach, where our ride takes a pit stop. Vans on, we’re jumping on the Aqualink to embark on two days of coastal feasting. Alamitos Bay, Shoreline Village, and the Queen Mary – it’s a seafood and cocktail extravaganza! Boathouse, Crab Pot, and Parkers Lighthouse are on the menu, topped off with a nightcap at the Queen Mary’s Observation Bar. and crashing at the vibe-tastic Hotel Maya.

As our LA escapade winds down, with a quick trip to Catalina Island, a world away in just 90 minutes. Picture a waterfront suite at Descanso Bay – our chill zone. Sunbathing, paddleboarding, spa treatments and room service. It’s the perfect wind-down to an epic LA journey.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There would be no Weddings By Leigh without my mom, Christy Leigh. Not only is she my business partner today but she has always been my guiding light and mentor on the journey to becoming my own boss. From an inspiring early career in events to owning and operating a magazine and marketing firm, she has laid the ground work for what it means to be a strong, creative, successful entrepreneur. I also have to mention my Dad and Husband, we are a very tight family unit and not only do they both support us on actual wedding days. They have always been there behind the scenes telling me everything I can imagine is possible.
