We had the good fortune of connecting with Pam Mcgeary and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pam, is there something you believe many others might not?
That talent alone can get you to the top. I’ve met a lot of talented people that just didn’t have the focus or drive necessary to succeed.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I had to completely reinvent my life after my divorce…really thought returning to my original career of stand up comedy was not in the cards for me. But after my kids encouraged me and I won a few local competitions – I was invigorated to give it a go again. I’ve learned you are stronger than you think when the going gets tough! Digging deep and finding what really makes you happy in life will catapult you through the dark days.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love showing people Los Angeles – and not just the touristy parts. I would take them on a hike up to see the Hollywood sign / go to Griffith Observatory and look at the skyline on a clear night. A dinner & show at the Magic Castle /a play at the Pantages or Ahmanson and maybe a concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. All architectural LA icons. Maybe a walking tour of the many Andrew Lloyd Wright buildings in Los Feliz & surrounding areas and a boat ride in a swan at dusk. A day at the beach in Malibu with a dinner at Dukes on the water.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My adult children Molly and Colin McGeary are the ones who encouraged me to go back into stand up after my divorce. They were the ones who entered me (secretly) into a stand up comedy competition. that eventually got me back onstage!
