Meet Pamela McCune | Clean Beauty Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Pamela McCune and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pamela, what do you attribute your success to?
I believe the most important factor behind the success of my brand is ultimately being myself. My brand is about natural beauty and empowering others. I have a love for beauty and seeing other women win around me. I have created relationships and bonds with others by simply being me. I want people to feel beautiful and empowered when when purchasing from me or meeting me at pop ups. It’s not just gloss or oils, it’s an experience too. I have found myself while developing this business which has been very rewarding and has made it easy to build a brand I love. I don’t have to try to be someone I’m not or feel like a sales person. My products work and people support me because of that too. I have always been a user of clean beauty & anything that is cruelty free. My products represent that and are handmade also by me. I have created products that work for me while I have extremely sensitive skin, which I think is really important. I really do love that everything I create is created with a purpose and I can tell people exactly what they’re using, why to use it, and what it will do for them.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My products and my business are one of a kind because they are created by me. I put a lot of time, energy, and money into creating something that not only works, but is eye catching. All of my products are used by me and my family, and I’m always striving to improve my formulas, upgrade my packaging, and come up with more ideas. I create the formulas and I also create my labeling. Each product being used is entirely created by me except the actual tubes. My lipglosses are infused with oils to not only add a pop of color to your lips, but hydrate them at the same time. Whenever I get chapped lips my go to is my own product, which is honestly so rewarding to say. Within an hour my lips are feeling better than they did before application and I have never felt that from any other brand.

This small business has not been easy. I have had bad batches of tubes, to labeling being tedious, and little things not going right. I overcame these challenges by the help of other local small businesses giving me encouragement and my friends pushing me along the way. I know my products are loved and that’s what keeps me going. I would never have thought this would be something I had the courage to do, but one day I just decided you have one life to live and you might as well try to follow your dreams.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would recommend stopping in some of Sonoma County’s small business shops, local breweries or wineries, and all the amazing food locations.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Before I started this journey I would always purchase from small local businesses. I came across a boutique called Bow N Arrow Clothing located in Cotati, CA. The owner had an amazing vision which brought her success on many different ventures. Last year she created a small pop up outside of her store to feature other small businesses. This became a hit and led her into creating The Soco Market. This small business market located in Sonoma County has not only brought up my small business, but it also brought up so many more. I really owe a lot to Mercedes. Without her version, drive, and love for others I would not be where I am today at all. Her support and mentorship has pushed me to continue to never give up and create something I love. All of my supporters have made an impact on my small business, which I am forever grateful for.
