We had the good fortune of connecting with Parham Javaherian and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Parham, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’m the CEO of the company, though not the founder. When I stepped into this role, my goal was to grow the business and lead it into the future with a focus on helping people become healthier through better metabolic health and preventative care. What really inspired me to take this on was the chance to make a real, lasting impact, especially in women’s health, which is something I’m deeply passionate about. Women, particularly those going through perimenopause and menopause, have been underserved and overlooked in healthcare for far too long. I saw an opportunity to help change that and build something that truly makes a difference in people’s lives.

What should our readers know about your business?
JumpstartMD was created out of a very real frustration. Too many people are struggling with preventable conditions like obesity, hormone imbalances, and chronic diseases. At the same time, our healthcare system often fails to provide the compassionate, science-based support they truly need. At JumpstartMD, we set out to change that.

What makes us different is simple but powerful: genuine human connection, science-backed expertise, and personalized care. Our members don’t just receive medication. They receive real support and attention. Unfortunately, the word “care” is often missing from our healthcare system, but we’re working to bring it back.

We’re proud to be rooted in California, with beautiful local clinics and a team that understands and serves our communities. At the same time, we’ve built a digital platform that brings support to people wherever they are. That includes Rumi, our one-of-a-kind AI weight loss companion, who’s available 24/7 to offer answers, encouragement, ideas, and wellness tips. Today, we serve Californians across 14 clinics and through our Online Membership program.

Getting to this point wasn’t easy. The weight loss and wellness industry is crowded with quick fixes, hype, and programs designed more for profit than for people. But we stayed true to our mission. We invested in science, in real human support, and in outcomes. That’s how we’ve helped Californians lose over 1,000,000 pounds so far.

One thing I’ve learned is that making a lasting impact takes time, patience, and integrity. At JumpstartMD, we’re in it for the long haul. Our goal isn’t just to help people lose weight or balance their hormones. It’s to help them reclaim their energy, their joy, and in many cases, their lives.

That’s also why we’re increasing our focus on perimenopause and menopause care with the launch of MenopauseCare.com. Supporting women through this often overlooked stage of life is something I care deeply about, and I’m proud we’re stepping up to fill that gap.

We believe the future of medicine is personal, proactive, and empowering; and that’s exactly what we’re building at JumpstartMD.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A perfect day of food in Orange County might start with breakfast at Plum’s in Costa Mesa. For lunch, I’d head to Flower Child in Newport Beach, and then wrap things up with dinner at Vaca, also in Costa Mesa. As for activities, spending time in Laguna Beach and Newport Beach would definitely be part of the plan.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people and influences that have helped shape my life and career, but a few really stand out.
First, my parents. They laid the foundation for everything I’ve been able to do.
My wife has been my biggest supporter and cheerleader through it all. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner.
I also have to give a big shoutout to my education, especially UCI’s Paul Merage School of Business (Zot Zot!).
And when it comes to shaping how I think, authors like Jonathan Haidt and Sam Harris have had a major impact.
