We had the good fortune of connecting with Paris Volsch and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Paris, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Bravery is such an important characteristic to possess to conquer the path to success in life. I’ve always firmly believed that taking risks in life is necessary and true growth only comes from doing things that make you uncomfortable. You would be amazed what one can do when you push through those nerves and do something new and exciting.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Life is a fabulous journey and I love to explore a multitude of different artistic avenues. I have always been multi-faceted and often wear different hats day-to-day. Some days I’m behind the chair making someone feel fabulous and hearing the latest gossip, other days I’m being a model being glam in front of a camera, and some days I’m making beauty tutorials.

I think what sets me apart is my tenacity and my creative approach to almost any situation. I had a major pivot in my career when the pandemic set in. While many sat back and waited for a check I was brainstorming and knew I needed to make a change in my professional life or it would be detrimental. I focused on building my online presence and started sharing my knack for fashion and things just sort of took off. I started receiving a plethora of gigs and a new business blossomed. I was no longer just a hairstylist but quickly became a multi-faceted artist and business woman. I am excited for what the future holds and I am also working on another business with my boyfriend that’s in the works and very exciting.

over the many years I have worked in fashion and beauty I have learned that you need a tough skin and perseverance to survive, or the industry will trample you and not even bat an eye-lash. You need to believe in yourself and only hold space for people who build you up and inspire, there’s no time for anything that will hold you back.

I want people to know that no matter how humble your background may be that the world is your oyster and you can achieve anything if you just have the right mindset and it doesn’t matter how big your dreams might be. Don’t listen to people who say you can’t achieve your goals, they’re often just projecting their own feelings of failure.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Living in LA there is a never ending list of things to do. Some of my favorite places to grab a bite definitely have to be Sunset Tower, Marmont, the Little Door, Avra, Spago, and cecconis to name a few of my favorite haunts. one of my absolute favorite things to do is go to Vibrato and see a jazz show and have dinner, definitely one of my boyfriend and I’s favorite type of evenings. In the summer the Hollywood bowl is always a super fun time and I also love seeing a show at the Pantages or a burlesque show/event and other music shows all over LA it never ends! I also love to dance and hitting the dance floor at a club can be fun from time to time also.

Malibu is always a fun day trip and having lunch at Nobu Santa Monica can be fun but often crowded but still a fun time.

I also love to cook and definitely will plan some evenings at home with a home cooked meal and wine and just sitting around the table and talking is one of my favorite things to do that often seems to be a forgotten way to pass the time with friends.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have been blessed to have many mentors and inspiring people in my life. I am always learning from others and growing my skillset. I have chosen to surround myself with people who are inspiring as I believe we become the average of the company we choose to surround ourselves, this includes who you choose as your romantic partner. Choose who you hold space for wisely cause these people can be a great inspiration or be detrimental to your progress.
