We had the good fortune of connecting with Pascal Pristly and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pascal, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’ve been in LA my whole life born in Culver City Westwood, but raised in San Fernando valley by my mother

Growing up being raised by a single mother has taught me strength, perseverance, bravery, but also to be humble. We didn’t have much mom working as a care giver to put food on the table, a roof over my sisters, and I heads to being on welfare, and section 8 cause she wasn’t making enough. So I knew once I turned 16 I started working to get the life I wanted and where I wanted to get to. Hustling finding any job I could. My mom taught me to never give up on my dreams, she is my motivation and inspiration. I had a son at 21 and my whole life flipped upside down. I stopped focusing on music for a year to learn how to be a father especially since I didn’t have one in my life I didn’t let that be my crutch. He’s taught me so much about patience. Looking at life in different lenses day and night I working on music when I got back hungrier then ever

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Honestly I’m being authentically me off and on the mic, I found comfort being out of my comfort zone Toto being exposed as honest as I can be to be connected with each person who listens to my music takes a piece of me with them as they take the aux or ear piece off. I get to kick my dirt and really let out of how I truly feel. I didn’t get here alone I in my need a team, people who grounded me, kept me focused, pushed me over my limit, gave me responsibilities, growth, support, and love molded me to be the person I am today, to show me good and bad that’s in this world, to being free to give so much love, and showing me that to much can hurt me, to listen and be quit, and to speak what I know is right and what gives me that determination to not give up so easily. No it wasn’t easy, late night bus trips, over night stays with no extra clothes, money to eat, long nights no eating, tiredness, failing, taking 5 steps forward, and steps back it’s just consistency. Professionalism that I’ve obtained over the year is giving something your 110%. No matter what the project is and what my possession I’m in I have to learn to be a sponge cause I don’t know everything, but as well don’t be afraid to try and give it the best you can cause that’s all anyone can ask of me and I don’t stop till I get it done.
I’ve learned not everyone has the same dream as you, keep real ones only around you, and be you always!
At the end of the day I’m just like everyone else trying to find his way in this place we call life
And trying to be the best me I was yesterday

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? 
I would go to the art district area, people are so nice there, so many places to eat from culture to fusion. Anything artist is over there to create, and see.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are a few. “INNR CRCL” training me and learning from them on how to record and sing. Being one of my family to help push my name out! Novi, finch, Lz thank you for always watching over me and being in my life to guid me to not only be a great artist but a great person

The cave LA signing me to the label giving me a platform to reach many people with my music. Thank you to Jason my big brother for always being there when I’m at my lowest to be there and pick me up, advise etc. Judith working countless of nights and days on pr for me. Shawty broke my heart recording everyday, staying up late with me just so I can get my feelings out on a song love letter will forever have a special place in my heart

My family! Mom, nini, moomoo, my little papa bear, and my wife koka for keeping me grounded and keeping me focus, supporting since everything started I love you!
