We had the good fortune of connecting with Pat Francis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Pat, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
That podcasting is hard work. Fun… yes! But the scheduling, interview prep, recording and uploading the episodes takes a lot of time and energy.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My name is Pat Francis and I am a comedian and host of the comedy/music podcast called Rock Solid. The thing that sets me apart from other podcasters is I am not afraid to interview a celebrity musician from a fan’s perspective. I started podcasting 11 years ago so I’m kind of a veteran but I still learn new things everyday. The most important thing for me in regards to podcasting is you’ve got to be entertaining and your sound quality better be great! People should know that when it comes to getting a celebrity guest on my show I never quit trying until I’ve got them booked. I just won’t take no for an answer. I mean I will but… nah I won’t!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Movies… Grauman’s Chinese Theatre FUN… The Magic Castle
Food… Yamashiro
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My wife and children who have supported my show since its inception and the listeners who give me a reason to keep doing it week after week for the past 11 years!
