Meet Patrick Davis, MD | Facial Plastic Surgeon

We had the good fortune of connecting with Patrick Davis, MD and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Patrick, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting a business is quite the commitment, and a deep understanding of why you would want to embark on such undertaking is a must. To me, running my own business, is the best way to have creative control of my professional career. Much a like a film director desires to have “final cut” privileges at the end of the production of a film, an entrepreneur’s vision is inseparable from the business they run. In my business, which happens to be Facial Plastic Surgery, I strive to put my own version of what it means to care for patients and their needs. That’s why, when a patient enters my clinic, I hope they will feel different than the normal expectation of entering a physician’s space. I hope they say incredulously “This is a doctor’s office?” My daily vision is for a welcoming, compassionate space for those that visit and I wish when people leave they think, “Wow, I feel heard, I feel taken care of. I felt anxious, and now I don’t so much.” At its core, my thought process for starting my own business in medicine was to basically try my hand at what I feel a medical experience should be, and the only way I felt to really do that was on my own.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a facial plastic surgeon, which means I am trained in and focus exclusively on surgeries of the face, neck, and scalp. What I love to do, and what I’m known for is a the deep plane facelift. This procedure lifts the deep, structural elements of the face and places them back to where they once were. Most of my patients want to look refreshed, and still be themselves. A common response from my patients is that they are perceived after surgery as being more rested and youthful, however there is no tell-tale sign that anything had been done. This is the art of what I do, providing a wonderful surgical result that is seamless and natural, all the while being relatively unknown to the public. This is the beauty of Facial Plastic Surgery, a playful combination of art and medicine. I additionally perform eyelid lifts (blepharoplasty), rhinoplasty, eyebrow lifts, mid-face lifts, neck lifts, scar revisions and even hair transplantation.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Wow, LA is quite a place and just when you think you have a particular area down, things change. This is what I like about the city, always dynamic, while at the same time always having amazing natural retreats nearby to unwind. My family loves to go out to Sawtelle, Koreatown, and many of the restaurants along Pico or Melrose for dining. Just recently we had a visit to the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel, and loved it. Rooftop at the Peninsula as well is a must. I love to hike, and often enjoy exploring Topanga Canyon, as well as enjoying the beaches of the South Bay, with a little surfing here and there. Day trips we love include visiting Joshua Tree National Park or driving up PCH to Malibu and onward to Santa Barbara. So much to do!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’am completely dependent on those that have taught me along the way. A surgical residency is nothing without mentors. I thank those who have taught me along this journey from medical school to residency to fellowship to practicing Facial Plastic Surgery in Beverly Hills. I dedicate this Shoutout to those who have taught me surgery, as well as my wonderful family that supported me along the arduous, decade long journey to become a surgeon.
