We had the good fortune of connecting with Patrick Vasquez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Patrick, how do you define success?
Being content in the present as much as possible.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I found a linear approach to my teaching method. During my career as a professional cook I learned in many different kitchens how to do the same things. Once I realized they were all the same I focused on common insight to connect to all people through curriculum.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would visit the farmers market in East La at the Civic Center and grab some items for a half day trip and things to make a meal for the next evening. Then take a drive up to Mount Wilson for a hike and a peek inti the observatory. Maybe watch sone live music at Zebulon and an espresso in downtown Monrovia for a walk on the ave.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My wife for her endless support. In the Making, Community Services Unlimited, Eastmont Community Center and East Los Angeles Community Corporation for inspiration and belief in our vision. “Self Reliance” by Ralph Waldo Emerson
