We had the good fortune of connecting with Pearline B. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pearline, why did you pursue a creative career?
I always say that music choose me. My parents made me join the children’s choir. I enjoyed the choir. But, when I was chosen to sing a solo. Everything changed. I feel in love with music. Everything about music. I had to get more of this love from music. So, I learned more though songwriting and instruments. After music chose me. I had to return the favor by pursuing a career in music. I have to continue on the gift that is inside of me to give to others.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a singer and songwriter. I have studied a lot of different genres of music. Classical, opera, soul, jazz, R&B, etc. My music is about life experiences. Sometimes mine. Sometimes by observation. My music is hard to put in a box. For you can’t put life in a box. Which is expressed in my upcoming sophomore album entitled, “Silent Relief. ” Which will be released in May 2021! I am super excited to share this music with you all. This album was not easy. I have been creating this music for about two years. I never put so much of my whole self in music before. Please listen in on my journey through my music.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of the places I love to go to is South Street. A lot of different restaurants and people walking around enjoying Philly. I also love Penn’s Landing right near the water. I love being near water. Plus there are live concerts. There are loads of events and venues that holds all types of creative concerts and events. Any day of the week you can catch creativity. But, of course you need to get a Philly Cheesesteak and pretzel when visiting Philly!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout my family. They have given me so much confidence, love, and support. They have kept me going and guide me in so many ways during several days.
