We had the good fortune of connecting with Shima Razipour and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shima, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Ironically, my dog inspired me! Crazy, I know. Upon graduating from college, I was interning at a prestigious Real Estate magazine from 9-5. Each morning when I’d leave my new pup, I would feel sad. I’d see him looking out the door as I drove away from the driveway. His puppy eyes tore me apart! So, I decided I want a career that allowed me to create my own schedule and have the freedom to spend more time with him.
What should our readers know about your business?
I currently run two businesses. One, as a full-time Realtor and two, as a full-time Social Marketing Director. My Real Estate business is non-stop. My clients know they can call me at any hour of the day and I will be available. Whether I am on the field, hiking with my dogs or even out of town- work comes first! When I am not helping families find their forever home, I help manage a multitude of social media accounts. This business sort of developed on its own! I was not pursuing it, however, a few individuals and companies noticed my marketing skills and hired me. I am very grateful for my past clients, friends, and family. Due to their trust, support, and belief in me, I am proud to say that almost all my business is through referrals.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh my goodness! I am so glad you asked. I recently began a new Instagram account … just because of this! I love playing “tourist” in my own city. Friends and family often ask where I am when sharing photos of trails, restaurants, etc. Thus, I decided I would create a page dedicated to just that. The page is called, “You did what in L.A.” @youdidwhatinLA The goal is to share all my favorites places to eat, shop, and explore. As a daughter of small business owners, I understand the importance of referrals and marketing. My goal is to use the platform to not only share my passions and use the outlet for my creativity but to help bring light to my amazing community. Also, I am a certified Military Relocation professional which means that many of my military clients move here and don’t know what to do! This page allows me to help them.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am so grateful for my team, @thekondogroup. We are a diverse group of agents who work together like a family. They are the backbone of my business as they are there for me every step of the way. From the beginning to the end of a transaction, I can rely on them to help, keep me motivated and offer positive feedback and guidance if needed.
