Meet Pedro Cavaletti | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Pedro Cavaletti and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Pedro, what role has risk played in your life or career?
If I hadn’t taken risks I wouldn’t be here today. Moving from my country alone at the age of 16 was not easy. I moved to New York to study fashion and taking that decision was hard because even though it was a dream of mine I was really scared. Of course, a lot of times I thought that I shouldn’t have done this, but taking this risk was the best thing I have ever done, I learned so much and had a huge personal growth, which changed who I am. Take risks, we tend to regret more of the things we didn’t do than the ones we did.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I like to say that I’ve always been a dreamer. I used to watch cartoons and movies when I was little and all I wanted was to be in that world! So that’s when I started to draw clothes and make videos myself. Everyone in my family and friends circle knew that I was really passionate about it, so I always got a lot of support to follow this kind of career. I started to audition for movies and got my first job as an actor and as a model when I was really young, around 10. Working in that business made me realize how much I love art in general, but I always wanted to do more than 1 thing. So I would write, direct, act, make the clothes, everything I could. It seemed impossible for me to choose only one.
In 2020 COVID hit and I started to reflect on all I had done until that moment, I had walked in runway shows, acted in movies, and had my own fashion brand, but I felt like I needed to learn more before choosing something to study in college. I moved to New York to study “Fashion Presentation” at Parsons and once I was done with that I moved to LA to get my BFA in acting. I’ve been working as a model and producing my own films while in college. I walked the runway for the LA Fashion Week this year and produced my new feature film “Artistic Pressure”, coming out on January 5th.
So I feel like I’m getting to know myself more every single day, and I’m excited to see what comes next in my career!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, I guess I would take her to the tourist points first, like the Hollywood sign, etc. And then I would bring her to the Griffith Observatory to watch the sunset! Buy some Brazilian food and have fun around North Hollywood!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My father, who always supported me to follow my dreams and to never give up. And also to myself, because I worked really hard and still do to get what I want.
