Meet Percy Brown | Actor, Content Creator and Podcast Host

We had the good fortune of connecting with Percy Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Percy, why did you pursue a creative career?
Before I made this a career, it started off as a hobby and experience that I never expected. Growing up as a kid, I was shy, didn’t want to be center of attention, but I was also curious. That curiosity led me to trying new things and going out my comfort zone. My first ever performance was a solo dance performance for Missy Elliot’s song Lose Control at my local community center’s Talent Show when I was in Elementary School. The reception after by fellow performers and the audience, that feeling of entertaining and how fun it was got me motivated to continue. Although dancing was my first performance art, Acting became my number one focus when I became infatuated with it after watching DIsney Channel shows such as Suite Life of Zack and Cody and got to study and learn the art, performing around NYC and at my High School. I chose to pursue this career because of the growth it allowed me not only as a performer, but as a person. I went from being timid and seeking validation to enjoying the “all eyes on me” attention and being able to deliver memorable entertainment for everyone. I discovered myself, found my identity and realized that this is truly what I was meant to do and nothing else could come close to the thrill and excitement of being on stage. Art is powerful and I seek to use that power to continue to entertain the people!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
“The Most Charismatic Man” isn’t just a nickname; its a culmination of my story and how I ended up where I am today. I’ve been acting and performing for over 13 years now, starting at The Urban Assembly School for the Preforming Arts. I ended up studying and graduating with my BA in Theatre from St. Bonaventure University in 2018, where I was also bestowed with the Ideal Bonaventure Man Award. In 2020, I created ThePrinceofFreshAir Podcast and I also became known for my multiple episodes on the popular YouTube Channel Jubilee Media. While I have had my share of awesome success, I have also had my lows and failures as well. The Entertainment Industry is a hard industry to navigate and rejection is 98% of the job. I’ve bombed auditions, had many auditions but never nailed the role, rejected for many projects and opportunities and at the last second replaced with someone else. My confidence took many years to develop because I struggled with my own identity and hearing No so often caused me to doubt myself, my skills and even at some points made me question if I can make this a career. One quote that I heard that I live by is “Nothing in life worth having comes easy.” I live, sleep, breathe and eat this career, so my dedication, hard work and perseverance keeps me going to the finish line. What sets me apart, besides my attention grabbing hair, is my now-impenetrable Charisma and Confidence. No matter if i succeed or fail, I will continue stealing the attention in every room i walk into and leaving an impression that no one can forget. After all, “A Helping Hand is a Better Hand”-Me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m cheating here a bit. Even though its not in LA technically, we have to go to Dune Point in Malibu. The beach is nice, but the trails and scenery is incredible and hard to beat. The Wood Ranch in Burbank is a restaurant is a must go. Another food place I enjoy is Dave’s Hot Chicken in Burbank. Not only in the area known for many famous Youtubers, Content Creators and other creatives living there, you’ll probably run into a celebrity or 3. We will also go to Venice Beach and check out the famous Muscle Beach and Skate Park, then walk over to Santa Monica Pier and bask in the ocean air and views. Another hidden gem is the Hill Cliffs overlooking Beverly Hill. At night, the views are straight out the movies and its a great place to unwind, have some drinks, chill and just get away from the busyness of LA. The Warner Bros Studios Tour is another amazing place, where you might even see some celebrities walking around or getting ready to shoot a project and then grab food at Mexicali Taco for some fresh and delicious Mexican food (Mexicali Fries are 100% recommend)

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Despite my success through my own hard work, I know I can’t take all the credit. There are so many people and organizations that helped me throughout the years that got me where I am today. First off, I have to give massive credit to Melissa Friedman, Director of Epic Theatre Ensemble. A Non-for-Profit afterschool theatre program that won the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program award from Former First Lady Michelle Obama for their work with NYC high schools, Melissa and the entire organization are fundamental to my journey. From the afterschool workshops, working with professional working actors and the opportunities they gave me on and off stage are unmatched. I’d like to also recognize my high school theatre teacher, Mr. Gabe Silva and Theatre Professor from St. Bonaventure University, Dr. Ed Simone. Not only did they see my potential, but they helped guide me, gave me a chance and went out of their way, in class and outside of the classroom, to push me as a person and performer. A quick shoutout also goes to my brothers, my lifelong friend and fellow actor Odiseas Georgiadis and my first Talent Agent who I am still with today, Chris Roth of Avant Artists. There are so many more who deserve credit, but I really want to say Thank You and Shoutout to everyone for believing in me and their unwavering support of my journey through the Highest of Highs and Lowest of Lows. There would be no “The Most Charismatic Man” without the help and support of you and everyone!
