We had the good fortune of connecting with Petite Meller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Petite, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
I always say “wear your trauma proudly as your idiosyncratic style ”

In my music buddies I always wear bandages to show the process of healing and overcome.

I was harshly sun burned as a child and that’s why I wear extreme blush

I see my mission in life is to cheer up people as life is so absurd and music for me is the only thing that making sense.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think my ear is my compass, the sounds leads me to create the soundtrack of my next destination, I love to travel to Kenya, Senegal, Mongolia to meet the people to learn the folklore and create together a new public dance. I’m excited about my new vidéo “Thé Drummer ” which is my new single available on all platforms. I think I create sad songs that you can dance to , in Freud it’s called “Jouissance”, which is a pleasure out of pain.

I learned that in order to succeed you need a great team and that nothing is impossible, for example I just shot in Connecticut a band of 200 kids waited for me there dancing my song without meeting me before that’s crazy,

Anything is possible, you just need to dream and create your own reality.

I feel like I’m Oscar from The Tin Drum book, I’m hear you wake up by my music for a change, to give people power, to cheer up I think that’s my mission on this earth.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m obsessed with Libraries, In LA the UCLA library, in The UK the Duke Humfrey’s Library on Oxford, and The Sorbonne in Paris, I love Also private libraries like the clinic of Freud in Vienne and his House in London.

I love to sit and take lots of books and read them all open together it gives me ideas for songs.

I hold a Masters in Philosophy and utilizes my education when conceptualizing new projects that comment on global issues through my creative work,

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There’s so many people along the way that helped me along the way, I want to thank my older sister Efrat who went to Jazz festivals and left me in her room with huge library of all her Jazz vinyls, from Duke Ellington to Dizzy Gillespie to Paul Simon. I was inhaling everything into my soul dancing all around the room singing to the mirror. She also encouraged me the importance of being one of a kind as she always wore craziest outfits.
