We had the good fortune of connecting with Porsche Carrera and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Porsche, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
I’ve always worked for myself. Always worked in school, in rehearsals, & in real life, but the most important work is how you work on yourself. I feel like I had to really work on myself in many aspects & really make sure I was the truest, & realest I could be to myself. I had to be a better version of myself & that helped me with the success I have had so far.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have passion for what I do. When having a set mindset for something my work ethic will be on another level. Honestly I wish it was more consistent & not only when I set my mind to something, but it’s lead me to performing for Megan the stallion at Bts concert show. I’ve worked hard to be where I’m at. I used take risks & skip a lot of school & a lot of events happening in my HS years that I can never experience, but I did it so I could push towards my career & my success. It wasn’t easy but I did it & still did it with making sure my school grades were up to par. I’ve learned that you have work hard & be consistent for what you want. It won’t just fall on your lap. You have to grind for what you want. I’d like the world to know that I’m not even close to the success I want for myself. Although I’m so forever grateful with the opportunities that have been given to me, there is still so much more for me that is coming & it won’t come unless I keep pushing & grinding. It is very hard within this industry because I am gender non conforming/ trans women & sadly you don’t see a lot of us in the entertainment industry such as dancers, actors, & artists. I want to pave even slightest road for people like me who are never showed or put out there.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a Los Ángeles native. I know almost every area in La. I would first take them to the beaches such as Santa Monica for the pier & Malibu for the beach & water. Especially driving to Malibu beach the drive is beautiful with nature just hovering all around you. I would take them to scenic views that stand on national reservoirs/ parks. I find nature to be one of the most beautiful things in life. I would also take them to Hollywood & Downtown to see a more city lights place & id take them south of La to enjoy some authentic good food & show them where a lot of la culture comes from. After all this I would take them to a city not further than 2 hrs away called Palm Springs. The feeling there is like no other. That feeling of being away from the city & just being able to breathe & relax, but it still being so fun & having places where it makes it still full like your in a city. Idk how to explain.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a shout-out to my family (mother & siblings) for always pushing me when I needed it & always being their for me. They are my rock & what keeps me going at my weakest points in life. They are my motivation when I have none. I’d also like to shoutout the dance teams/organizations I’ve been on over the years such as Pshs dance team & illusionists. They’ve helped me become the dancer/person I am today. Another group I was in was The Lab & i was pushed to a different level while being apart of this group & it’s made me stronger mentally and physically more than I thought I could ever be. Directed me towards opportunities that has helped in my career.
