We had the good fortune of connecting with Pratibha Salian and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pratibha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting a business needs commitment, planning, sacrifice and a strong sense of Passion and Purpose: when I moved to USA, I was driven by a deep passion for Makeup, understanding each and every products the why’s and What’s? And then when I started understanding every detail about this I fell in love with it. When I learned it completely and started doing on myself the right way I understood how much confidence its has build in me, it boosts the overall appearance which anyone notices even before we start talking to them.
So when I understood the power of Makeup i had a strong desire to make a meaningful impact and contribute these skills and expertise in a way that helps everyone so I opened my own YouTube channel Pratibha Salian Beauty Channel to help everyone and I am glad my channel has now reached 799K+ subscribers.
My personal goal is to make everyone independent and I am very happy whatever I do it completely aligns with my values and personal goals.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am born and brought up in Pune. I come from a very lower middle class family where my dad was a rickshaw driver and it was very difficult for us that time to even get proper food, but by gods grace even now when I have everything I still feel that those days were the best days because I wouldn’t have become what I am today without going through all that ! It made me strong, determined and focused and a go getter! And due to all the hardships we faced I knew at a very early stage I realized that never ever give up! You will get what you want only and only if you stick to what you want and then Universe will bring opportunities and everything for you by which you can reach where you are destined for! So listen to your mind the signals it gives you, grab every opportunity you get and have patience . This will definitely lead you to success and the life you have dreamt of! think I didn’t choose this, this path chose me, it’s like what is yours it comes to you! When I quit my job for my family I really did not have any idea what will I do? I love the way how my YouTube makeup channel put out a realistic vibe, and allow those who follow me to really connect with me on a personal level.
However I am not the only one doing this there were more then thousands of people who were already doing this, so create a place here for me was difficult but as we say everyone has a different charm and based on the feedback I got from my subscribers I am the only one here who gave in depth knowledge about makeup and all their answers related to makeup were solved only after watching my videos. They could not only do their makeup but have become financial independent by becoming makeup coaches or best makeup artists just by watching my videos.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh I love Chicago and as I am also new here haven’t explored much but whatever I have explored and loved based on that the first stop would be the Millennium Park where we would not only enjoy clicking some great pictures in front of The Bean, the Crown Fountain, the Lurie Garden but also enjoy the Summer Music Series. Then the next stop would definitely be the Giordanos Chicago Pizza and some best cocktail bars.
Then would love to watch the local aquatic creatures at the Shedd Aquarium.
And then would head over to my favorite Navy Pier enjoy the Ferris Wheel , grab a drink and enjoy the Chicago Riverwalk and then in the evening would head towards the iconic architecture boat cruise to enjoy the beauty of Chicago Skyline.
and would end it with some adventure TILT over the city at 460 Chicago observation deck and last stop would be my home to relax and chill out with some yummy food!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

The most important factor behind my success is HONESTY, FAITH ON DIVINE, PATIENCE & of course my parents sacrifice , blessings, my husbands support & my 8 year old kid Reyansh without his support, love and understanding this wouldn’t have been possibl and also constant support from my friends and family.
And of course Manifestation techniques, Journey Within book by Sri Sri Ravishankar which taught me
You cannot move forward when ur head is turned backwards means you cannot keep thinking about your past , beat yourself for what has happened in the past, whereas every day is a new day and you are a new person..
So don’t look backwards just be in the Present moment and that really changed my perception a lot!! And yes I also do the Sudarshan kriya the Sahaj meditation, journaling just to be grateful for whatever I am today and count my blessings!
