We had the good fortune of connecting with priscilla mcnally and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi priscilla, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
It actually was not something i had in mind. I had gone to school for medical field and worked in the medical field for about 6 years, but i hated being gone and away from my children so many hours in a day, when i had my youngest I decided maybe it was time for a change in career. 2019 was the year i started my first company La Villana Produx ,i would make custom gifts and decorations and that led me to branch out into artistry which led me to become a nail technician who specializes in hand drawn nail art and I am now an owner of two companies , I make my own schedule and I get to be a very present parent in my children’s lives, I no longer miss the little moments in their lives and best of all I am my own boss.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Passion, it’s really the passion I put into my art, I don’t see it as a job or work, it’s a passion. Looking forward to the new doors that social media has been opening for me in the nail industry, Tik Tok has surprisingly gotten me a lot of my followers and response, after working at salons for others, I have new things coming and i love being my own boss. I’ve learned it pays to be nice as great things come to those who are already grateful, you never know when your life may take a turn and everything you’ve wanted comes to be. There have been many challenges along the way building a brand and business or businesses is stressful it can take a toll on your health, on your pockets, and much more, the goal is to never give up even on the bad days.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Here in California, there is so much to do, but amusements parks would definitely be the way to go. Disneyland for some fun, amusement and great mixed drinks. Six flags for the thrills and excitement, some drinks on the beach if its the summer, or some fun in the snow if its cold.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people who played significant roles in my success, starting with my father, the man who believed in me every step of the way but didn’t get to see me achieving all my goals. My husband who believed in me the days I didn’t believe in myself and made sure to never let my crown fall during the really good times and the really hard ones, he really deserves the most recognition of all as he really has been my right hand through all the good and bad of opening a business. My best friend who always has encouraged me to continue pushing, my mother who was my first client and has been faithful since, and especially my children who push me daily without even knowing they do.
