Meet Pxncho | Music Producer/DJ

We had the good fortune of connecting with Pxncho and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Pxncho, what matters most to you?
I think loyalty is one of the most important principles for me. I believe you can be loyal to yourself even. A lot of people are loyal to outside variables and they end up forgetting their sense of self. It’s a beautiful thing to be loyal to your friends and your day 1’s, but its also important to be loyal to your craft, your individualism and your passions. Loyalty encompasses many values that have allowed me to keep a steady career in music, from dedication to perseverance, loyalty is the foundation to the values that have given life to my career.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think what sets me apart from most people in my industry is that I’ve adapted and evolved throughout my career in music. I started at 9 years old, as a guitarist, and throughout my teen years I played in blues bands, heavy metal bands and acoustic folk music bands. I then transitioned into being a singer/songwriter and began performing solo acoustic sets throughout San Diego. As times changed, I delved into beat making in my early 20’s and started producing in Boston. I moved to California and began producing for rappers and singers for years. Once I established myself as a producer/beat maker I began DJ’ing all over southern California. It has not been an easy road, but being able to adapt and change my set of skills, I’ve been able to overcome any challenge. I want the world to know that it’s important to evolve and change yourself as an artists to avoid being stuck in a particular place in time.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend where to visit me I would first take them to Wii Korean BBQ. I love that spot. We would eat, drink a little bit, then head over to Good Vibez Studios. Most of my friends are musicians, so we would most likey buy some beer or tequila and record some tracks. After recording for a few hours, I would take them to Los Globos on Sunset, where I usually DJ every Friday.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Mani Strings is a music producer, artist, entrepreneur who has been my mentor ever since I moved to LA in 2019. She hired me an audio engineer at Good Vibez Studios located in Burbank, CA. She constantly has live shows, she has credits with some of the biggest artists in the industry and her studio remains a staple in LA. You can find her on social media @manistrings
