Meet Qiana Miles: Singer, Songwriter, Performer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Qiana Miles and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Qiana, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I decided to do music full time, my thought process was to understand that the success wasn’t going to happen overnight. Yes, there will be some amazing opportunities that will come that involve little to no effort, but to truly be successful I must always be prepared. I made preparation my goal so that no matter when the opportunity comes, I’ll be ready.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being a full time Singer is a tough job, but it is a dream come true of mine. Everyone has heard the starving artist stories and they are very true. Ranging from not knowing when your next meal is coming because you only have $0.79 in your account to auditioning for two years and never landing that contract you wanted, I’ve been through quite a bit, but I have survived to tell the story and encourage the next person to keep going! People can sense if you believe in yourself or not. When you show that confidence, it draws those opportunities to you. You also have to recognize that getting a “no” isn’t such a bad thing sometimes. It makes room for something better to fall in place. I got to where I am through hard work, preparation, and consistency. It won’t always be easy but it will be worth it. Building “Qiana Miles” the brand took a lot of soul searching, unlearning of old habits, growing an open mind, and facing fear head on. That soul searching led me to move forward in the release of my debut single, “Without You”. I had been sitting on the record for some time, but over quarantine, I had a moment to really seek out my hearts’ desire; and that was to release this record. My story is simply a testament that you too, are worthy and can make it happen if you believe enough and work hard enough for it despite the obstacles thrown your way.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’ve never been to LA so I don’t have any suggestions, but would love to visit one day!!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I absolutely wouldn’t be where I am if it weren’t for God’s hand on my life, my mother and grandmother, my husband and my close friends. They all have kept me focused and motivated to keep going even when it looked impossible. When I would doubt myself and the purpose placed on my life, they reminded me that I am enough and to keep going despite naysayers and negative self-talk.
