We had the good fortune of connecting with R.3.D and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi R.3.D, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
My father inspired me as a young child watching his music videos & being in the studio with my dad for hours upon hours, I began to be interested in producing first before I actually converted into practicing lyrical content. Once i turned 13 years old & Outkast’s Speakerboxx/Love Below album dropped I had my mind made up I wanted to be a rapper.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from other creatives in my field is my entire being. The way I dress down to my sound, I’ve mastered the art of not being able to compare my songs to anyone but mine.

I’m most proud about working with 103.9 radio station to performing at Wet N’ Wild twice. Adding on to that having the opportunity to open up for Iggy Azalea & Snoop Dogg at Mandalay Bay Beach Club in front of a crowd of over 3000+ including a few celebrities in 2019

I made those opportunities happen by staying consistent, keeping connections, & staying prepared amongst of anything. It definitely wasn’t easy, I have no team, manager, pr, etc…this is all done by myself so it gets timely. As of now I’m looking to build a team slowly as I’m reaching other goals of scaling my brand.

I learn lessons everyday lol. Main things is like to say making connections, building bonds, keeping those bonds strong, & utilizing your bonds is something I believe is much needed to say.

I’d like the world to know SAGA is my brand, Saiyanz are my supporters. Few years ago it was called 3rdWorldSaga but that only pertained to a certain audience & I like universal people so I changed it to SAGA. I rock simple things like a white tee, vans, & sun shades but I also like to look different. A lot of people compliment my outfits so I decided to sale what I wear! @SagaSaiyanz on Instagram & merch/music on R3Dteevee.com there may be some re-branding in the next 2-3 years but we’ll see about that when the time comes.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Depending on which it is but for the most part when I have someone I want to show things to, we definitely are going somewhere I’ve never been as well lol. If we’re in Houston, TX then Mon we’re going to probably go to Turkey Leg Hut & watch movies at home. Tuesday we’re getting Tacos from my fave food truck down the block from my mums crib. Wednesday we’re going to check out a local hookah lounge in Pearland i’ve been to twice before, the scene there is dope. Thursday we’ll hit a candy museum because I love candy & never been to a candy museum lol. Friday we’re going to another hookah lounge / bar that’s maxx poppin called Prospect. Saturday we’re going to this club that stay lit called Space HTX. Sunday we’re ending it a Strip Club called VLIVE it’s lowkey ghetto but I love how they treat me in there lol

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I definitely want to shout out God / The Universe for allowing me to still find faith in my efforts. I want to thank all my true Saga Saiyanz supporters, that’s my brand / my world. I want to thank Vegas for molding me into who I am today, the good & the evil! I want to thank Paul V & 103.9 Radio station in Las Vegas for playing 5 of my songs in rotation every week for a few months. Last but not least I want to thank my parents, love ya’ll!
