Meet Rachel McClusky | Founder of Recharge Wellness Co. + Creator of The Recharge Method

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel McClusky and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachel, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I always knew that I had an entrepreneurial spirit, I was going door to door when I was 9 years old selling lemonade because I felt it was better than waiting for people to find our lemonade stand haha When I look back at the earlier days of Recharge Wellness, my goal was to bring women together in a safe space to connect, unplug, and ultimately recharge. My goal wasn’t even to start a business in the beginning. The first event I hosted was a complete accident, I wanted to invite some friends over for an “elevated girls night” and all of a sudden I had 35 women who RSVP’d, was renting an event space, and at the end everyone asked when the next event would be. It all snowballed from there to events, weekend retreats, and I’ve never looked back. It was always meant to be and I am incredibly grateful to have seen Recharge Wellness grow in the last five years from a simple idea.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am the founder of Recharge Wellness Co. that hosts events and weekend retreats for women all over the country. I am also the creator of The Recharge Method fitness concept that blends a moving meditation with dance cardio sculpt. My mission is to create a safe space for women to connect, move, unplug, and ultimately recharge. I feel so passionately about creating intimate settings for events that you’d feel confident attending alone and knowing you’d leave with new friends. I’m so proud of the community that we have created, I truly believe the women of Recharge Wellness are the most supportive and amazing women in the world.
It took years to build the community to what it is today and there were so many points where I got caught up in the comparison game or trying to figure out how to reach more people with what we do, but I have never questioned if I am doing the right thing in my career, I have absolutely no doubt. I feel like I was created for this and it can be really challenging to work as a solopreneur, but I am truly grateful for the amazing women who have been a part of this community. 2020 was a huge pivot and it forced me to go completely digital, which at the time felt impossible, and ended up allowing me to reach women all over the world. I remember feeling so lost the first few days of the lockdown, but with a mission to help show up and support women, it all came together virtually. I also rely on family and friends A LOT and I have some amazing cheerleaders in my corner.
I want the world to know that if you don’t know where to start with making friends as an adult, or you’re looking to create shifts in your life alongside other women, Recharge is created for you!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If a friend’s coming to Los Angeles, we are immediately going to Erewhon for Buffalo Cauliflower, go for a hike in Topanga or Malibu, spend time at the beach, take a Recharge Method class at Studio B, and walk around Melrose. I love everything that LA has to offer.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to give the biggest shoutout to the community of women who have consistently showed up to events from the very beginning. Watching this community grow over the last five years has been absolutely incredible (and beyond my wildest dreams) and it wouldn’t be what it is without the women that are a part of it.
