We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachelle Reyes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachelle, why did you pursue a creative career?
Creating to me is home, being creative makes you go on this emotional rollercoaster that helps balance the chaos that us creatives go through. Creating has always been a part of what makes me the person I am today, its weaved in my DNA. I want to say that I have a creative map and what I mean by that is my upbringing was certainly not a “normal one” I moved around ALOT! I’ve met tons of amazing people that have touched my soul and wheather or not they know it.. They’ve had an impacted on things that I’am passionate about today. My love for Business, Cooking, Singing, Music, Painting, Photography, Designing, Writing, Cinematography, Sewing, and even my odd obsession with everything you can make with clay. I certainly don’t fit into a Niche and I would never want to…Even if it makes me all over the place. Creating challenges me to think outside the box, it helps me manage my mental health and it showcases what I’m passionate about. It makes me strive to become the best version of me, to look back at life and see what I’ve accomplished in hopes to pass down that same mentality to my child.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I do all of the creative/business aspects of my life by myself from Marketing, Designing, and Editing. I actually struggle most of the time not believing my stuff is good enough..So most of the time I just don’t end up putting up content that I’m not 100% happy with, it’s definitely a downfall of mine. I’m a perfectionist that wants to take on the world by herself and doesn’t know when to take a helping hand when offered. I wouldn’t say that I’ve overcome the challenges that its brought me but I wouldn’t change the road I’m on. I’ve been through a lot as I find that a lot of creatives I’ve met along the way have and like many I’m just hear to express myself. It has its pros and cons but it can be overwhelming at times but on the plus side it’s never been boring. You can say I spend the days pretty much running around like a chicken with my head cut off, I mean that’s a given with being a mom of a toddler. He’s my proud moment and gives me reason to try and become the best version of me.
Some lessons I’ve learned along the way that I try to live by are.. cutting out the negative and surround myself with people that empower me to become better.
Below are two quotes by Audrey Hepburn that I’ve grown fond of and have tried to live by.
“The greatest victory has been able to live with myself, to accept my shortcomings… I’m a long way from the human being I’d like to be. But I’ve decided I’m not so bad after all.”
“As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.”

Experience the local farmers market, hit up a vintage or art shop in a local downtown scene.
Compare different brews at local coffee shop cafes in the area and splurge on baked goods.
Go on an off road four wheel adventure through the desert or cool off with a dole whip at Disney.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The person I dedicate this shoutout to is to my amazing son, Anthony. You make me want to be the best version of myself. I encourage that you to always embrace what your passionate about and know that I’m here for it. There isn’t always a guarantee towards the path to success but trust in yourself, put in the work and surround yourself with people that encourage the best in you.
Lastly, to the people that are closest to me who have helped/cheered me on along the way – you know who you are. Thank you.
