We had the good fortune of connecting with Rah Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rah, what’s your definition for success?
I define success as the state of being positively charged, while elevating to your level of comfort to sustain yourself. I asked my 10 year old son how does he define success and his reply was “being able to accomplish a goal(s) that, especially the ones that you set for yourself.’
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
BluLight Films is a team of creatives and hard working professionals that are aligned in crafting engaging and high quality content. What sets us apart from the rest of content creators? It’s not just about a bag for us. It’s about the authenticity of the stories we create. Whether its a Commercial, TV Show or a Documentary our aim is to create the most entertaining and authentic art we can produce. The entertainment business is a very competitive business to be a part of. No, everyday is not easy, yet being able to make something that didn’t exist yesterday, wakes us up every morning ready to rock! Follow your dreams, don’t take no for an answer, always stay humble, and never stop learning!!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In our post pandemic environment, our options maybe a little limited. However, if my friend was coming into town we would first have to get something to eat. We would have to hit Dulan’s Soul food, Simply Wholesome, Bayou Grille, Earle’s on Crenshaw or Phillips BBQ. Then head to Venice Beach. One day would be outdoors hike in either Angeles forest or Tree people. One day we would have to go to Malibu check out the beach and then grab dinner out there. Of course we would have to go Self-Realization lake on Sunset for an outdoor reset.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A Homeless man by the name of Lenny introduced me to the book that had the most influence in my personal success. That book was Think and Grow Rich. As a young “hotshot”, in corporate America, thinking I knew it all. Lenny pressed me every morning, as I got him coffee, for about two weeks to get this book. I did and it expanded my world. Shoutout to Lenny, wherever you are, Brother. Shoutout to those who changed our trajectory in life. I believe we are responsible for our own velocity. However, there are people who’s impact that has changed the trajectory and direction in our lives. And for that, they deserve a salute! Those who mentored us, gave us a good word of support, expanded us to new ideas, was someone to look up to, made an introduction or pushed us to become better. Big Shoutout! We often get into tooting our own horn. We should focus on who has helped us along the way. This will enable us to influence and assist others on their journey also. Give more than what you take. That’s an important key to success.
