We had the good fortune of connecting with Rahul Alim and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rahul, what do you attribute your success to?
To be honest, building my team was one of the best things I ever did for my agency and for myself. Surrounding myself with talented and dedicated people has enabled me to focus on things like developing company-wide strategies and long-term goals, as well as thinking about ways we can grow our client base.

It’s important to surround yourself with successful, talented people.

I began by hiring great people under me, but the key to my success and the success of my agency has been delegation. I learned early on that while I am good at some things, there are a lot of other things I’m not as good at.

I’ve learned that it’s amazing what you can accomplish when you have others doing the things that aren’t as important for your success.

When I first started out, I tried to tackle everything myself. It was manageable for a while, but I quickly realized that there was too much work for me to handle on my own. It was at that point, I decided to hire a few employees.

It wasn’t long after that, my company was flourishing.

I wouldn’t be where I am today without the help of those around me.

My advice to other entrepreneurs is to hire great people and delegate responsibilities as much as possible. This will enable you to stay on track with all that you need to accomplish, while still growing your company.

When I started my agency, all I had was my cell phone, a borrowed laptop, and wifi access from my parents house. I chose an industry, found a problem in the market, came up with an offer that was easy to understand, then called like crazy to sell my offer. I found contractors to do all the fulfillment so when I sold my productized offer, I was paying out of my profits. That way it did not have delay, make excuses, and go off to the races to build the business for the future.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite part of the city is probably downtown los angeles. I feel like it’s an under-appreciated side to this incredible metropolis but there are so many hidden gems waiting for you! From grand central market with its endless selection food to Bradbury building and everything in between…you’ll never run out options on your adventure around town.
