We had the good fortune of connecting with Rakeisha Smitherman-Muiruri and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rakeisha, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
I think the most important things as a parent are to teach your children to:
1. Think for themselves
2. Never be afraid to be different
3. Trust in their own abilities
These things make the biggest impact because they will carry them through life and are necessary in so many different situations.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am a real estate broker that focuses on first-time homebuyer education and financial literacy while working with people all over the continent. What sets me apart from other real estate professionals is that I focus on helping the client understand their overall picture to purchase property affordably and be well informed while doing so.
Getting to this point today has been a culmination of 12 years of experience, hundreds of transactions and many testimonials from thankful clients. This information is not often taught or spoke about, yet many people need it. No, staying in business for 12+ years has not been easy when I approach real estate from a different angle than most. I have overcome challenges by being true to myself and always having the mind to serve clients from the best place.
The biggest lesson I have learned is how to adjust, fail gracefully while learning and be okay learning from others. What I want people to know most about my brand is that we are all about changing the trajectory of generations using information that can aid, empower and educate. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate this to my mother for always believing in my crazy thoughts and encouraging me to trust my gut.
