Meet Ralphiel “Rif-Raf The Great” Marshall | Label Owner, Music Producer, Mixing Engineer & Music Publishing Administrator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ralphiel “Rif-Raf The Great” Marshall and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ralphiel “Rif-Raf The Great”, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my business was to make sure I was ready mentally and financially. I had to accept that there were going to be obstacles along the way. I knew when it came to working with artists, other producers, and independent labels, I needed to be professional and have the right paperwork in order to show I was capable of handling business on a professional level.
What should our readers know about your business?
West World Music Group and Far-Fir Publishing is my music production label and music publishing company. We collaborate with and help develop independent artists and producers who are serious about their music careers and we also set emphasis on letting our clients be themselves. I got to where I am today by staying true to myself and trusting in the process that comes along with running a business. I made sure that my clients were comfortable, they were part of a team and a family. Doing business is never easy, not every business encounter is a pleasant one. You have to be able to solve the problems that make you and the clients look good, which will result in continued business with the client and also the client recommending your services. It’s a win-win situation for both.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
To be honest, I’m a workaholic, I’m in the studio every day and all day, or I’m on webinars learning more about the things that will help me in business. When I decide to get out and it’s a week-long trip, I normally go to vegas and take me a female friend and stay at the Cancun Resort, while I’m there I’ll visit some music friends and hit the studio, I’ll go to my favorite food spots and eat some soul food at Annie’s Kitchen on D street or go to Fry Dayz Fish and Wings on Twain Ave and maybe some shopping at the Miracle Miles.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are many people who deserve a lot of recognition for being a part of and are still on this music journey with me. First, I would like to thank my mom for bringing me into this world and giving me the morals that I stand on today. I Would like to thank the most high for gifting me with this talent, Ase. I would like to thank the artists, producers, and labels who said “NO” to me. I would like to take this time to recognize: Lil Dude Davinci, J Dange, Blazt-Off, C.N.R Jaxx, Dj J Hayes, Skitzofranicc, Money Menace, Flawless Records, Crittermake, Nitty Cane (#freenittycane), The Real Mysterious B, Fitty The Ceaser, Specc-O, Jahn Stone, Soul Mobb Inc, Daytona Mack, Doodle Bug(Digable Planets), The Narrator RBX, Troy Anthony, Vermili (Voice 101 Recording Studios) and everybody who saw and believed in the vision and trusted me enough to work with me.
