We had the good fortune of connecting with Randall Aquilina and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Randall, what matters most to you?
The very definition of the brand name speaks volumes alone. “Etiquette.” It’s the code of ethical behavior which should be applied to all walks of life. There is a way then there is the etiquette way.
What should our readers know about your business?
We are a collective operating under an umbrella with the mission to provide a space of the community for the community. During the pandemic I recognized how important that would truly be as we reengage in society. The ability to offer a place of refuge that’s inviting and received amongst our neighbors has been humbling as well as rewarding. The vision required a lot of risk but our confidence was driven by the fact that we offer what it is we seek most. A sense of community. If you stay true to your morals and work hard without compromise it will be acknowledged.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A major city like LA can be very intimidating as well as isolating. At the same time it offers more than most can fit in one visit. Downtown pre-pandemic was becoming a hub for entertainment. The arts district has managed to maintain a big part of that appeal. It has some of the most reputable restaurants in the industry i.e. Bestia, Bavel, Girl and the Goat, Damian, Factory Kitchen just to name a few. Death & Co., Everson Royce, Tony’s Saloon and the Arts District Brewery are all great places within walking distance of each other to have a great drink and conversation. We offer one of many great options to grab coffee and breakfast or lunch while offering a unique experience getting a haircut or tattoo and leaving with a great plant to take home with you. Outside of our neighborhood you have the beach, parks, music venues and countless museums and galleries.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I give credit to every member of our team. We are a family and it takes the efforts of each one of the crew to keep this ship afloat.
