We had the good fortune of connecting with Raphaelle Dufosset Ruau and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Raphaelle, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
After moving from France and taking care of our Children, my partner Barbara and me got our work permit right before the pandemic…worst time ever to hope to get a job!! After a few months looking for our regular jobs (I’m a Colorist for Feature Film, and she’s a social worker), we decided to create our owns jobs, starting a cute little French boutique to bring our favorites brands for kids and grown ups to our neighbors! It was all about sharing, bringing a peace of our Country we were missing and keep us busy!…super busy!!! That’s how was born Petit Parisien.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets us appart from my point of view is that we are a French Business. Everything that we picked for our shop is from France, from our favorites brands. It’s all about bringing a piece of French culture, expertise, and design in California! We are such a cute little European place, and we love it!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My friends would visit me from France, so I’ll show then Hollywood, the Movie studios so famous, that we all know from the movies, Griffith Observatory, starting a little hike from the Trail Café after a morning coffee. I’ll show then my sweet neighborhood of Magnolia Park, Burbank. Make them hike in the Runyon Canyon Park Hike, to watch the mountains all around LA with some snow, the Hollywood sign and Griffith observatory. Then have a drink in a Rooftop pool Downtown. We’ll have a day around the ocean, Chilling in Hermosa Beach, having a bike ride to Manhattan Beach. Then I’ll leave LA on the 1 up to the north, show them Sequoia National Park and any other National Park if we have some time left! Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Partner obviously, we are supporting each other a lot, as business partners, women, Moms…Our Husbands were, and are a huge support when we decided to jump into this adventure!
