Meet Raul Tutiven | Creative Director & Visual artist/Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Raul Tutiven and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Raul, how do you think about risk?
The way I think about risk is in order to see progress you must take action with faith in order for a positive outcome to happen. Everyday we have a choice. You just have to take that leap in order to see what’s on the other side. Taking calcuated risk is essential for any business/career to grow and learn. All the risk I taken thus far has lead me to new discoveries about myself, my art and how I see the world.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Like any artist, we have several facets. One of my facets is my Photography that I am focusing on currently. I am most proud of this because of the hard work and sacrifices that had to be made. I created RFT studio for my love of photography and fashion. The beauty of photography is that everyone has a different eye, perspective, story to tell. My story is to create a timeless experience by using or telling a story through a still image. I am still growing professionally and making new connections everyday and that’s the beauty of this industry; there is always room for improvement and growth. I am most excited about getting into cinematography and creating some unique visuals. A lesson I learned along the way is to not take everything to the heart, and have patience. I tend to forget that I am on this floating earth in space; knowing this-keeps me grounded. I want the world to know that I am not stopping anytime soon. I want to take my brand RFT STUDIO to the next level and work with name brands and discover new talent along the way. RFT studio is all about creating timeless photographs/visuals whether it be for your modeling portfolio to your startup fashion company or local brand. I want to collaborate and work with individuals who have a vision that they want to turn into a reality.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Lately I’ve been into creating wholesome experiences for myself and the people around me. Life is all about the company you keep and the memories you make. If I wanted to show you around I would take you for breakfast(my favorite time of day) to a spot called Blu Jam Cafe. The menu at Blu Jam Cafe is divine, they have several options ranging from a classic omelet to an Italian breakfast with poached eggs, rice, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, basil, and tarragon. Then I will take you to grab some coffee at “Coffee Coffee”. Incredibly delicious lattes with a super friendly staff. Then take a stroll around melrose to visit a thrift store. If I am feeling adventurous; I will plan to visit a spot I came across which is the OUE Skyspace LA. They offer incredible 360-degree views of the city below. Anything with a view for me will ideal to bring a friend that visiting especially around sunset. I love the outdoors, so I look forward to seeing what else Los Angeles has to offer.

Just a major shoutout to everyone who has supported my brand and vision whether it be my close friends and family to the models I photographed, to the agencies I have worked with. I am just so grateful to be able to create and turn my ideas into a reality. Thank you to those who showed endless love and encouragement.
