We had the good fortune of connecting with Ray Carr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ray, why did you pursue a creative career?
it was already my whole life . experiences and connections with life have made the images of my imagination much more vivid . once I found myself , within myself ; the urge to share it and create on a grander scale seemed fitting the vision , in a way that I didn’t understand yet . once I started getting deeper into my art , the world responded.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is a reflection of the knowledge . Esoteric knowledge is the spiritual truths that have been around for centuries . Using the information , then embodying it and reflecting it within color sequences , shapes and symbols . Using gems that have been used since the beginning of mans spiritual journey .

I can only be me… I believe thats what sets me apart and allows me to stand out . I genuinely cannot be anyone else , nor do I want to be . finding the light within and learning from life and books , using the tools to become a better me ; my art is a reflection of my development . Every time I create , I find myself communicating thoughts and emotions that I couldn’t find the words for ; or feelings I couldn’t grasp without the image .

Putting all my faith into my business , I relocated to Houston , TX after living in Florida for over 10 years ; with only my art , my cat and a dream . It was a test of myself and my faith in what I fell is my purpose . I don’t know if I can say , it was easy but I do know its been worth it , so that lessened the blows . Going back to my inner self and giving myself space to succeed is what kept me persistent .

I learned more about myself than anything . Trust was a huge lesson ; trusting myself , my environment and the universe . knowing that all I have worked for will eventually pay off , trusting that the universe has my back and wants me to be my best . Overall learning to outgrow my old self .

I would want the world to see my perception through my art . To know how genuine and that I put my %110 into all that I do . knowing the work , long days and longer nights , books , highs and lows …. have all shaped me and I continue to strive for more , for better . Inspiring to inspire has always been the goal.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love nature , food and music . Finding a combination of the 3 would be best suited and exciting .
Going to the beach , sitting by a lake or even sitting by a pool . Sounds of nature is so grounding and the visual of it all is so amazing . Also the opposite , going into caves , hiking and camping . Healing from the sun and moon , smelling the herbs and plants growing . Experiences like that have revealed to me the beauty that always exists , even when were not present for it .

Outside is a cool place Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
my family and friends have always inspired me , supported me and loved me through my journey . I couldn’t go through the lows of learning without having my emotional safety net . my friends always give me new perspectives of life and situations . my family has always accepted me , even in misunderstandings ; that has shaped me in many ways , creating a space for growth and understanding . Spiritually , the universe has guided , validated and taught me much more than I could know , in any other way . I talk to the sun , stars and moon , often .
