We had the good fortune of connecting with Raya Dize and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Raya, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Loyalty, compassion, authencity and kindness. Music is something you must be genuine and authentic about. Technical skills are crucial, but sometimes people forget what is the real purpose of music. Music is an expression of your soul, that is why it is incredibly important to feed your soul with positive thoughts, good actions and love. Being a better human being is the first step you need to make in order to be a good musician. Otherwise, you won’t find a connection with your audience and your message won’t be heard.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
One thing that I am being proud of is I am always staying loyal to myself, which is one of the most difficult things to do, especially in music industry where is everyone is pretending to be someone. Someone fancier, richer and cooler. I have always been doing what my heart told me to do, no matter what is considered to be popular. My goal is to keep sending deep messages through my songs and sharing the experience of life. My path hasn’t been easy : I have moved 28 times all over the world, I have experienced tragedies on the way, health issues ,faced bullying and betrayal. My music is classically inspired. I tend using strings and classical piano in my productions. I write about problems of our society, issues of our generation, children and love.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my friend to a cafe that serves the best coffee in town and then we would go to the park to have a spiritual and deep conversation about our world. Attending sound bath on the beach is my favorite thing to do and I am always sharing this amazing experience with my friends and loved ones.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family, cause I have been receiving their support from the very beginning.
