We had the good fortune of connecting with Reema Bhagchandani and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Reema, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
When I was ten years old, I would race home from school in Mumbai, drop my bag on the floor, and switch on The Oprah Winfrey Show. I didn’t always understand the depth of what she was saying—conversations about purpose, resilience, and identity felt bigger than me back then. But I understood one powerful thing: Oprah had a way of finding a hero’s journey in even the most ordinary people. Her storytelling didn’t just reveal their struggles—it celebrated their strength.

That’s where it all began. I went on to study journalism, chasing stories and deadlines as a teenager—juggling classrooms by day and newsrooms by night. Eventually, my path led me to the bustling, unpredictable sets of Bollywood. In my twenties, I took on every role I could find—intern, assistant producer, post-production lead, casting manager, reality show producer—working alongside some of the industry’s top directors and executive producers. I learned the craft one set, one script, and one show at a time.

After several grueling years of climbing the ranks, I landed the opportunity to work as an Executive Producer with Endemol Shine, leading major reality projects like Fear Factor and Bigg Brother. That marked a turning point—there was no looking back. I went on to produce over 50 formats for platforms like Netflix, MTV, and Viacom18. While the entertainment industry often appears glamorous from the outside, what it truly taught me was how to thrive in chaos, solve problems creatively under pressure, and—most importantly—the discipline of showing up, day after day, at your 9 am call time.

And yet, somehow, I wanted more. In 2022, I finished an amazing project I was working on with Netflix and packed a suitcase for what I thought would be a two-week solo trip. It turned into six months. Mexico City. Hawaii. New York. Chicago. San Francisco. LA. I wandered. I questioned. For the first time in years, I let myself pause. Somewhere on that road, between airports and late-night journaling sessions, the question that had been quietly building finally got loud: What if there’s more?

That question led me to California, where I pursued my MBA in Marketing—something completely outside the world I had known. I wanted to learn again. To challenge what I knew about business, creativity, and leadership. I graduated with honors in 2024, but the real win was deeper: I saw how my years of storytelling could evolve into something bigger.

After years of producing for traditional formats, I began to feel a shift. I had mastered the chaos of live sets and multi-cam shoots—but I started asking: what’s next for storytelling?

Curiosity became experimentation. I started playing with tools like Midjourney, Runway, and building custom GPTs to generate characters, environments, and emotional arcs. And very organically it pulled me towards technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), and Augmented Reality (AR). Today, we are building alongside some of the most brilliant minds I’ve ever met—engineers, artists, futurists—people who challenge me to think more boldly, design more meaningfully and live my highest expression.

That’s why we built Starseed Studios. It was our way of telling hero stories!

Sometimes, I think back to that little girl in Mumbai, racing home to catch The Oprah Winfrey Show—and I smile. Every chapter since has been a reminder to stay bold,  stay curious, keep showing up on your call time!, and trust that “THE BEST IS YET TO COME!”

From Formats to Frontiers: The Journey of Reinvention

Getting to where I am today was anything but linear. I started out on television sets, producing massive global IPs like Big Brother and Fear Factor. That taught me how to run complex productions—but after nearly two decades, I felt the urge to learn more. That’s when I came to California and pursued an MBA in Marketing. I wanted to combine my creative instincts with a deeper understanding of new technologies.
It was during that time of reinvention that Starseed Studios was born.

Transitioning from traditional formats to the frontier of AI, AR, and VR came with its own set of learning curves—technical, emotional, and operational. But what got me through was staying curious. That mindset helped me see disruption not as a threat, but as a design principle. I surrounded myself with collaborators who challenged my perspective, and I committed to projects that forced me to evolve.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned on this journey, it’s that curiosity builds resilience. It’s been my greatest compass—guiding me through the unknown, fueling my decisions when the path wasn’t clear, and reminding me to stay open when things got tough.

We’re living in one of the most exciting times for creatives—where technologies like AI, AR, and VR are breaking down traditional barriers and unlocking new opportunities for global storytelling. What I want the world to know is that everything we do is rooted in reinvention. At Starseed Studios, that’s our mission: to craft bold, immersive experiences with authenticity, and brevity!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting LA and I wanted to give them an unforgettable time, I’d carve out a day dedicated to pure West Coast magic—starting with a morning hike in Malibu, perched right over the water.

Next stop: El Matador State Beach. It’s one of those tucked-away, cinematic spots with dramatic cliffs and golden light that makes everything feel like a movie.

For lunch, Nobu Malibu—they have the best sashimi.

Dinner at Elephante in Santa Monica, watching the sun melt into the horizon. End the night with live jazz at The Dresden Room… 😉
