We had the good fortune of connecting with Reina Hidalgo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Reina, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think about risk as a new flame in my soul. A flame that ignites a passion and willingness within me to pursue my dreams. Taking a risk has been a blessing in my life that manifest into something yet unknown. The unknown that has benefit and enhanced my career. A moment of trusting and Surrendering to the outcome. Knowing that no matter what I will be ok.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What keeps me busy professionally is having a routine. I have always been good in keeping a scheduled and balance it out with self time. I do my morning routine of meditation, drinking hot water and lemon. Straight to my workout than get ready for my day. I will either do work emails or get ready for self tapes, rehearsals, or heading to set.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ooo if my best friend was visiting I will start with a morning hike at Temescula Canyon. It’s one of my favorite hikes because the view of the ocean and the city on another side is breathtaking . After we will go to Gjusta in Venice for the egg and back sandwich. Well all their food is so yummy and fresh. Proceed to walk down Abbot Kinney Blvd for some shopping and stop at Salt & Straw for ice cream. If we need to digest our food a little bit more we will head to the Venice Canals for a nice stroll. Later in the evening hit up The Whaler for happy hour and watch the sunset on the patio upstairs seating and than dinner at my favorite sushi spot SUGARFISH. Trust I have more as for a week planned but right now you can get an idea hahah Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Wow there is so many people, books and things I dedicate my shoutout to. I will keep it brief haha. I have to say my spirituality and my connection to myself has been the biggest support and stability in my life. Without my meditation, reiki, Yoruba and yoga practice I will be out of balance. My family and friends those near and dear to me are also my foundation. They inspire me daily and are there when I need a reminder or just hold space for me. We do that for each other. Super bless to have certain special people in my circle. As far as books I have a ton that helped guide me to my journey so far. To name a few I currently finished Bell Hook “ All about love” this book dives in the meaning of lovelessness and what it is the core meaning of LOVING YOURSELF. My all time favorite “The Four Agreements” by Don Ruiz Miguel. “Many lives many Masters “ is another good one. Hit me up I have a library of great books. Haha.
