We had the good fortune of connecting with Renny Hunter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Renny, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve always known I wanted to be my own boss, it was just a matter of learning the steps that took place before getting there. Growing up it seemed like a distant dream but through the age of technology, it was made apparent to me very quickly that although daunting, it wasn’t SO far fetched! When the opportunity presented itself to leap, I leapt!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Although RH Collective was founded in 2021, I’ve been producing in the creative space professionally since 2016. The goal in mind was to provide clients with a full service experience that will authentically materialize their vision. RH Collective is an all inclusive agency that prides itself on all things visual content, specializing in photography, social media management, event planning, community outreach, talent management and more. The best part about my job is if I don’t already provide a specific service, a lot of my clients are willing to wait until I learn before seeking out other options, I think that’s why I have such a soft spot for small businesses. I’m the first person to say “I’ve never done that before but I’d love to learn.”

Upon its creation, RH Collective committed to the mission of helping businesses and brands tell their story by connecting to their customers organically. Here at RH Collective, we believe in acting with intention. Connecting is the core of this company, and we intentionally create meaningful content that will aid your company in achieving unlimited success.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m confidently a pretty (what most people would consider) “boring” person outside of my business. I understand why it’s hard to believe as someone who interacts with so many different personalities, curates multiple community events, founded numerous companies, why wouldn’t my down time reflect the same vivacious outgoing nature? I personally believe it’s because I recharge alone, or alone with my dogs, or most recently alone with my dogs and my man. All of that hustle and bustle drains me of any social battery I have reserved for the week so if I do hang out with friends, it’s usually one on one and over a good meal (I love going out to eat but I’m always down to chef it up), time spent outdoors or any activity that would be labeled as “low-key.” Unless you want to travel, if that’s the case – it’s an entirely different Renny!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, my mom is my BIGGEST supporter! She has bought every ticket, every product and also more often than not, physically helps the production side of my endeavors. Not only does she help my business, she’s my best friend so inadvertently keeps RH Collective afloat by helping me personally.

My family friend and mentor Brian Jones, an extremely successful entrepreneur and businessman that selflessly lends his time and expertise to me.

The clients who trust and believe in my vision, those of which got me to where I am today… the clients who stuck by me, even the one off clients, the clients who taught me lessons by wronging me, every single one of them!

If I could sit and compile a list of everyone who’s meaningfully impacted my business, I’d be overjoyed because there are so many individuals who’ve helped me along the way but I’m hoping those people know who they are.
