We had the good fortune of connecting with Rica Kelly and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rica, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Because teaching yoga became a part of my life’s purpose, not just my career. I am a student of life. And as I deepen my yoga practice, one of the most important things I have learned is “unity(=yoga)”. We are all independently “alone” but sharing life together in the moment. It became natural for me, at this point of my life, to share what I have been learning.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What am I most proud of? The intimate connection that my clients and I create. That connection allows me to guide my clients deeper in their practice and helps me to see and understand what they are experiencing. How did I get to where I am at. My determination, self trust, and grace. What are the lessons I have learned? The fact that I can only teach others when I am also fully learning my own yoga and life lessons. What I want you all to know about my brand and story. We all have a story to share. If yoga is like writing, then I envision my sessions are like a favorite pen helping my clients to write easily. If you want to learn how that feels, please let me know.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
LA has it all. So I will def. Take you from the beach to the hills. But on top of that, I’ll take you to the pupuseria in downtown LA to boba tea in K town, vegan restaurant in Weho to good margarita in Santa Monica. Always the authentic good food makes all of us happy and LA has them all! Wanna know which restaurants to go? Ask me out!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
