Meet Richard Scott | Screenwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Richard Scott and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Richard, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
With so much content and competition in the industry, it can be difficult to get your work in front of the right people. This is not a helpful city when it comes to entertainment. Many doors are slammed in your face and there is a business in Hollywood of making a lot of money off other people’s dreams. You have to be thick skinned and forge your path. Endless Imagination was a dream and a way to get the content out there and have some control over the process.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I love creating stories. My goal is to always stay grounded with what I am writing and try to tell a story that may resonate with someone after reading or watching it come to life on the screen. I generally have a story in my head that I also tentatively cast in my mind and then bring it to life on paper. It can be a difficult process when you get a writer’s block, and you have to wait for the fog clear to move ahead. It is a continuing process that I learn something new in every day. I get excited about the possibilities of seeing wonderful actors bring the words to life onscreen.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love to hike, so planning a hike in the Los Angeles mountains would be a must to see the views from up high. If the person had never been to LA, I would take them on a tour with the top down on the car and let them see the different areas of the city and try to incorporate some of the Hollywood history into the tour. With so many restaurants to choose from, I guess I would let our taste buds decide on what type of food we were in the mood for and go from there. I would also have to invite some of my friends from Hollywood to meet us so they could talk about their careers through the years from such shows as “Dallas”, “Walker, Texas Ranger” “90210” and others.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There have been so many people that have been a part of this process and molded the person I am today by giving me encouragement and advice to strive forward. My parents instilled values into me that I remember always from work ethic to how to treat others. Some of my friends here in Hollywood have given me great advice and inspiration to keep going, and my best friend has always been a great source of support in helping me in the business.
