Meet RIIIVER JORDAN | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with RIIIVER JORDAN and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi RIIIVER, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
When it comes to my life and career right now, If it doesn’t fit the highest possible outcome I should give it up. Most people think success is overnight, but it is a constant growing process and journey for an artist of any kind. I am just learning now that everything I ever dreamed of is possible or has already happened so when life happens, let it. Just be prepared to keep going or leave parts that don’t fit the next step. Giving up isn’t an option, but change is inevitable.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
RIIIVER JORDAN is the artist. The Blueprint to the greatest version I want to be everyday. At 3 months old a car accident almost took my life, and even then the Doctors didn’t expect me to be “Normal” or have the intelligence I do now. Even more the reason to take on new goals and achieve them. Then inspire others on similar walks to make their Dreams a reality also. From the very beginning there were odds against me, So I have showcased the journey in the music and the Artwork that comes with it. Imagine if all the days of your life were a bigger piece of art, that’s how I want to connect to the world. We have all survived and made it through dark times. So connecting to the world through music and writing is the goal. If not music then perhaps one of the other ways RIIIVER JORDAN connects can impact even just one person a day. It’s about connection now more than ever and music, food, poetry, and knowledge can do that. My Brand and business is about love on every level, starting with the self. The greatest challenge I have had to overcome is not rushing. We tend to do something and rush to the next without actually celebrating ourselves with each goal. Since being signed to Nick Cannon I have achieved things that were once merely “Dreams”. Since Cannon found me living in my car I have released a body of work in my first EP “DEPARTING THE MOON” (out now) about the love and life journey at that time. I created a sound of my own inspired by many of the greats, and I have been able to speak about my life to those overcoming similar situations. I always wanted to inspire the world, safe to say I am doing that. One day at a time.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So if my bestfriend is coming to town and the line up is pretty amazing. We are both into fitness so it would start with catching up and a great workout. I love the outdoor hikes and bodies of water in and around the Phoenix,AZ area. So experiencing one of the cliff jumping spots would be one to remember. I probably want a new fit and hat (I love hats) so we hit the mall or hidden shop spots for some flyness followed by pizza, cause we love pizza. We would then find some type of music open mic or dive bar to meet, sing, and network with strangers because we both move in the business of Art and there is always something going on in the city whether a concert or outdoor music venue.. We would probably finish with the studio to work on new music because 2 creative minds are better than 1. Also TWISTED CHICKEN in Phoenix, AZ is a favorite of ours as well as DONs NY PIZZA because they make a signature “Buffalo Veggie” pizza just for us and it may be the best I have ever had.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
If I have gained anything from my journey so far it would be that there is inspiration all around if you let it in. For those of us looking up its rare you`re able to connect with new people or be vulnerable enough to let them in your world even for a moment. Thank you to my brother Sway and the Duran family for providing a space for me in their family. I am forever grateful to Sway, he thought it was I that inspired him, but it was the constant push to be great and believe in myself that would allow me to be who I was meant to be. Just by being. If I had not gained this family who’s to say I would be in this exact moment I am now. I would thank Nick Cannon for going the extra mile for me in a moment I almost gave up on my dream. That moment I was able to create with his team followed by a year that changed the world, I was reminded of my why in performing and creating music. To express a real journey and all the stories I wanted to show and tell. I have to thank my Dad Joe Pugh, because his journey and work ethic created a safe place for me to learn and grow. When I need a strong voice, words, or strength he is there to guide me. My Dad has always been a hero in my life and now his life has helped me become the Artist I always dreamed. Without my Dad there would be no RIIIVER JORDAN. His faith and his passion for his dreams and goals have consistently reminded me that I am limitless and have barely scratched the surface. Thank you Dad.
