We had the good fortune of connecting with Robbie Molina and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Robbie, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I didn’t even think it was possible for me to pursue a creative career, it was never in reach or just for me. I thought I would have a regular job after I graduated from college and go on from there. That isn’t the case now, it took me a few years after college to get a sense of what I wanted to do. I was working at the LAX airport for 3+ years. During this time, in 2019 modeling peaked my interest and did my first fashion runway show, definitely was nervous and excited. I found out I love being in front of the camera so much and taking photos were enjoyable to me. I just love modeling and getting photos of myself because love serving model face and showcasing my personality through style and attitude. In 2020, I got into background acting and acting in general, and really enjoy the process of being on set and you never what role you can play, this just brings out the excitement, interesting, and something different. I also started my content creation journey in 2020, where being stuck at home most times and only going to work when scheduled, and decided like why not promote some products on instagram because I don’t use it for anything else. I just couldn’t be at the airport anymore, this is when I decided to go to culinary school for baking & pastry arts back in 2021. I knew I always enjoyed baking growing up but it didn’t peak more interested till my sophomore year in college. I have dreams and aspirations to own my business someday with delicious drinks and treats, one day!!! Overall, I just didn’t want a job where I couldn’t see a future in and some traditional 9-5, that’s why going this route has the endless possibilities to express myself creatively.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m just proud of myself and how I got to where I am today. I think it took me a few years after graduating college to get a sense of what I want to do with my actual life and that was not to work a traditional 9-5 job, and that means to express myself creatively as much as possible.

Timeline of my journey as follows:
2018: I started my first job at the airport after one year of graduating college. During this time I felt that I wasn’t good enough to get any job with the degree I got, and a bunch of jobs were looking for people with experience. Like how does one get experience, when no one is going to give it to you? I’ve settle for the airport and I appreciate it so much because this was my only way to make consistent money to pay bills I had been occurring.
2019: This was the year I starting making cheesecakes for my coworkers and it was a hit for me all summer long. Towards the end of the year, I started doing some modeling because why not! I signed with an agency and starting working on my portfolio. They didn’t do much for me as an agency, but it led me to continue doing photoshoots through the rest of the year and
2020: Early in the year, I did an on-stay program with my agency and went out of the country by myself to Canada to help develop me more as a model. I got to connect with other models and did a photoshoot and the agency helps got me published in their publications. Forever grateful to be apart of this opportunity to learn more what I could be doing. This is where I also started my content creation journey and started promoting collagen supplements and
2021: I started doing background acting, just because it was different from what I was doing. Still content creating. I finally decided to enroll into a pastry program to a school in OC, one of the best decisions in my life considering I really enjoy baking so much.
2022: Left my airport job of 3 years, still doing content creation, background work was picking up, started my externship in a kitchen as a pastry cook for a chef I look up to and inspired to be, also picked up another job for this filipino small business who makes filipino inspired flavors cinnamon rolls, learn so much between both jobs, end of the year decided to take an improv class (so anxious performing in front of people but it was so worth it and love it so much)
2023: I graduated from my 1-year culinary program, my ceremony took place in March 2023, took another improv class at the Groundlings (one of the most popular improv studios, had to keep putting myself out there and perform more in front of people, what a rewarding experience), continuing working as background, started my new job at Universal Studios as a baker to hone and experience new skills, and to further my career as baker/pastry cook to eventually be a pastry chef.
2024: Currently, working in an industry I enjoy (pastry & baking), working with more brands than ever, getting invited to events, creating content for my instagram, doing as much background work as I can, (although it’s been slow), etc. Just doing whatever I can to express my creativity.

If there is anything you can take away from this is it’s never too late to pursue your dreams, passions or anything you find interests in. Things will never come as easy as you start your journey of self-discovery, love, interest, etc and always take a risk, step out of your comfort zone, and most importantly always bet on yourself. At the end of the day it’s just you and how you want to live your life. I just think being myself is the only way to live and you are not adding value or support then I don’t need you. I hope you all feel inspired by my story and to never give up and keep pushing & pursuing your dreams that will soon become a reality.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My aunt, uncle and cousins are my biggest supporters when it comes to doing what I love to do, especially inspiring me to become the best pastry chef & baker I can be. They were literally on board on this journey and I’m still continuing my journey and making them proud each and everyday. Thanks a lot to them.

I haven’t finish reading The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life by Mark Manson but there were so many lessons to learn from and this is how I started my content creation, modeling and acting journey. It’s never certain what will come from this but to keep going and doing what I want to do and not care what others really think.
